Never apologize for weeds or anything else that IS a part of gardening. I scroll past channels that only present perfect looks; it's not reality. We all get weeds, bug damage, and plant disease. To acknowledge it is truth.

I love to see the progress of your gardens! Very nice! Isn’t it so much fun to see the flowers planted out and watch them grow and produce flowers!! My gardens are exploding! I live in Nornthern California and we can start planting out the first of March! With all of the crazy going on in California…our weather isn’t one of them! 😊

What a fun tour! Please don't be shy about giving tours even if you feel areas of your garden might not be looking their best. That "keeping it real" bit is so helpful to those of us who are Sunshine and Flora fans - it is so easy as a new gardener too become discouraged when our gardens might not look like the luscious beds we see on youtube. Knowing that weeds DO come but they can be managed and it's just part of gardening....one task at a time!

Christina, you've made so much progress. Very impressive. I love the new planting bed up against the brick. I can picture steppingstones, and a trellis with vines up against the brick for your photo shoots! Question for you on the Yarrow. Some of my yarrow doesn't grow straight. I've had to provide a support, so it doesn't bend. It's still usable, but some of the stem have to be cut off when I use them in my floral bouquets. I do cut flowers in my own home garden for myself and friends. It's a hobby vs a business. I would so love to come and work for you, and you can pay me in flowers!!! Too bad you are not close by. 😊😊

I listened to a pod cast that Dave D. did, he said you can let the peony bloom just don't let the blooms go to seed. Also, I am zone 5 NY the Lily bugs are crazy today. Love your videos. 🌻

Fantastic tour! You have weeds? So do we! It's good for your flower friends to see we share weed pressure. I'm also in a zone 5a, in coastal Maine. I am a good 2 weeks behind you at this point, except my dahlias. They are huge. It was so wonderful and exciting to see your gardens!! Thank you!

Beautiful! Color is so exciting! To save some time with upkeep, I started mulching with straw. It's cheap and keeps weeds out and moisture in :) I'm so excited your shop is coming along :) Thanks for sharing!

You should put your mahogany splendor in your flood zone. All of the mallow are literally marsh plants (marshmallow). They will probably thrive there. If it’s too expensive to dig drainage now you could also get some obedient plant or monarda which are also not afraid of an occasional flooding

Yay for more gardening space! Looking good! For the raised beds in the area that floods, can you just add another board on the sides to make them taller? May be easier than digging to put in perforated drainage pipe.

Did I miss the Lisianthus? I thought I was paying attention, but I don’t remember seeing it. Wow, everything looks great. I still have zinnia seedlings to put in and lost half of my Floret seedlings which bums me out. This constant rain really brings on the weeds, and then it’s almost too muddy to hoe. You’ve done a marvelous job Christina, and I know you are a busy woman!

Everything looks great! For things that are perennial in your landscape fabric, are you able to lift it and amend the soil at the beginning or end of the season? Or do they just have a permanent spot in those holes? I have some feverfew that seeded itself from last year and wasn't able to lift the fabric this spring because I didn't wanna tear the plants apart through the holes!
@SunshineFlora
@SunshineFlora 3 күн бұрын
They have a permanent spot. But I do fertilize the perennials in the spring by watering them with fertilizer
