It didn't snap loose... The car had lost grip and he applied throttle.. That's why it went around. Listen to the video at that moment.

@@andrewr5873 if nothing on the car broke, no oil on the track etc.. then he didn't understand the feedback from the car. This stuff doesn't just happen out of the blue for no reason.

@@brentharper769 I love comments like this - when the “experts” speak. Dude, it was an HPDE. Meaning, mostly normal people (not actual race car drivers). This could happen to anyone at all of the sessions I’ve been to. Not everyone is a rainman at “understanding feedback” like you must be.

Sorry for the loss, Ive watch this a hundred times and I've put it side by side with my footage from my Mach 1 and I just can't figure it out. What tires were you running? Did you have adjustable sway bars? what kind of aero did this car have? I recently did the 3 day course at Mid Ohio and at the end of the third day a student rolled a school ILX in the same spot that you went around.

A driving instructor told me after reviewing this video, than turn has a little bump right where I got back on the throttle. I had all the driver aids turned of and was going at 101% of my ability. The tires were worn out nitto NT01s.

Driving old tires like that, got to set the turn in with more trail braking and scub speed with sqeak tires before lightly getting onto gas.. have to have loose arms to keep car straight also.

Did you have track insurance or regular auto policy? How was the loss covered? How did you like the s550 compared to other sports cars?

I'm curious if you see this .... were you running street tires? They were howling at every turn, so I'm assuming so as my MSC2's never made a sound. It appeared you got back into the gas a bit early upon exiting the corner, but regardless that rear end came around with little warning.

They were nitto NT05s. I mistakenly tried to get that one more event out of them. They had about 8 track day on them. It usually oversteer predictably, but that time she just snapped loose

@@hallrunners Tough break man. Hopefully you get back on the horse soon. I've had a similar mishap with the wrong tires so don't feel too bad, just vow to never make that mistake again and move on. What was your fastest lap in this car btw?

Our local Porsche club had a HPDE at mid ohio and I went
