@@mohaumoseki3582 For sure, Seasons 1 to 3 are the most outdated in terms of research and analysis. Episodes like Yang vs Tifa is a good one that could be done. However, some fights are better for returning to face new opponents. Such as Gaara fighting Crocodile and Terra fighting Toph, as examples of returning characters but not going over a rematch but something entirely new. This also helps us understand their changes of said characters and kinda just piecing things together from that point.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more rematches. Maybe not a WHOLE SEASON of them though. Maybe have a poll of the top 5 death battles people want to see a rematch for, and start by doing just them sprinkled throughout a season. Then maybe go from there.

@@jonathanfarah8612 Personally, I want to see them revisit Luigi vs Tails. With the new info on Mario’s power and durability, Luigi clearly scales to it. Not sure about speed and Tails still has the smarts advantage. Overall, a fun fight that deserves a second round.

@@kermitthesuperluigifan3938 I would not be surprised if Death Battle was waiting to look at Tracer, or other Overwatch characters, until after the supposed sequel comes out and releases story content that could help separate what the fighters can do in universe as opposed to gameplay limitations. If that is the case, Tracer won't give Scout a rematch for a while. That said, I have no evidence to rule out the idea of Scout facing another opponent before the rematch.

I think more rematches would be nice. Maybe like a few episodes every break (like now, but obviously not NOW) and these episodes could be mainly sprite fights except for some big ones, but the main idea would be to update the research and feats

With so much existing content and an appetite for returning characters, Death Battle should consider some tournaments where several characters can gain a comparison to several others instead of just one vs one. That might make it less redundant to bring Yang and Tifa into a fight again. A best of 4 or 8 where each fighter challenges each fighter with relevant outcomes in cases where they would win vs some but not others because of technicalities and such.

Sad to see no one called them out for compositing Link, essentially creating their own version of Link to use against Cloud since no version of Link has every weapon, item and feat that their Link had. As interesting as a season of all rematches sounds, I do worry about the demand for rematches spiraling out of control. If Death Battle redid every match that people disagree with, new characters and franchises wouldn't be studied for a LONG time. Longer if the rematches failed to satisfy everyone.

To be fair though, Tifa Lockhart fight set up (in most Fantasy RPGS) equivalent that of the Real Robots of most Mechas anyways, which you can pretty much customize their skills all in all in one place (like the RX gundam were you can replace his rifle with a Bazooka making him powerful over the other). **the problem with that is that most equipments nor the feats in the FF verse are pretty much vague and has left us to pure speculations unless they are considered to the canonity that it' likely happened. Yang on the other hand is liked another Real Robot, except her skillsets are all set~without customizations. and back then, Then didn't considered the Supernova feats until the Sephiroth vs Vergil showdown. So pretty much taking out some equipments can lead Tifa to a losing disadvantage yes, but giving her all plus all those materias equiped (only the canon ones in the story) in hand can make her more OP than the equipped Yang. Overall I think a base Tifa has a big chance on defeating Yang in a barefist no equipment fight against a base Yang. Both are considered real humans to boot in a fight, with their own fictional limits. Nude Tifa > Nude Yang MMA match (No enhancements and magic equipped) Base Default Tifa (all default cannon equipments-no probable materia) < Base Default Yang (all default cannon equipments) All Out Tifa > All Out Yang (confidently YES)

Some questions I have to ask based on the Supernova feat: Given all the materia in the game, how character stats at a certain point aren't radically different, and anyone being in your party that you choose, does that mean everyone scales to Cloud? Does everyone in the party have the durability to tank a sun? Because if so I feel that severely limits who anyone from FF7 can fight in the future to have any ambiguity toward who wins. Or alternatively is there a way to justify the other party members being notably weaker than Cloud in a reasonable way while still getting feats people will accept? This is one of the problems with video game characters, story and gameplay divide where in kayfabe characters can and can't do things narratively to keep the story going forward but then you as the player can do them in the gameplay section, or vise versa. Like for example, in the canonical Super Street Fighter IV anime Juri was able to just walk through Guile, Chun-Li, and Cammy but then you play the game an she's balanced so any of them has a fair chance of beating her. So how do you go about rationalizing things like that for the non-main characters of the game while still getting fair feats? Sorry this is kind of long, but knowing how you would stack Like Yuffie, Barrett, Red, etc. to Mako-inflused SOLDIER man main hero Cloud would help know what battles are worth aiming at for them.

well, tanking the supernova is 160 gigatons (large island), so its not like theyre solar system level.

I wouldn't say they have the same durability, like death battle said in the video, that is not the only feat Cloud has if you would debate its power, they explain in this very video how the Bahamut feat also comes into play, also Ifrit or the fact that Yazoo and Loz attempted to kill Cloud by nuking him with Flare(nuke) comet and explosion at the same time and failed, so Cloud all in all is consistent on how durable he is or the type of threats he can kill, the others not so much, maybe at the Safer Sephiroth fight with all the materia, but not after due to a peaceful life or whatever, the top dogs are still Sephiroth Chaos Vincent and Cloud.

Here you go... an entirely NEW SHOW - DBR ( R for Rematch). Two new hosts where they don't re-hash the old stats, but the analysis focuses on what was different and what has changed between the first fight and the rematch. Then, if there is a new outcome, how the new considerations swung the outcome. If the result is the same, then why it didn't change. As for the new hosts... they can treat Boomstick and Wiz as incompetent which is why there needed to be a rematch; thus creating a crossover animosity between the two shows. And, on top of that, you can twist the storyline into one of the new hosts being Boomsticks dad. I have a great idea for the voice for his dad.

Personally one rematch per season I think would be good. We still get new matchups and get to visit one in the past that could've changed with today's research. I do agree with Ben though rematches like Yang v Tifa should not be revisited though cause it is now clearly obvious who would win (Tifa).

That's one of the rematches I'd like to see because looking at reviews for that death battle, that was one of the scummiest where Yang wins and they have a banner for the next Rwby volume over Tifa's corpse. People often wonder about bias when a RWBY character shows up and when they've done that, I don't blame them. I want them to correct their mistake, I also want to see if they will actually give a RWBY character a brutal death like they do for practically every other character. The fact that Weiss' death was the tamest ever while Yang and Blake get to do brutal deaths to their opponents rubs me the wrong way. I want them to prove there isn't a bias towards Rooster Teeth characters because in every RWBY fight there was always something that seemed to favor them with either having better outros, Wiz and Boomstick gushing about how awesome they are, having literal ads for the show and getting the weakest deaths if they lose or censored wounds if they suffer a serious injury. Tifa deserves a stomp fight in All honesty.

I could see Shadow and Ryuko not liking the episode featuring them since Shadow has to kill the protagonist of his favorite anime while Ryuko appears on the show to lose. In Goku's case his guard was down and his Zack's case, Zack was already worn down by fighting a lot of Shinra soldiers. I'm down for the idea of doing more rematches then has been previously considered. I like hearing a modern take on some of the older fight in most cases. I would definitely prefer the older fights in fact; a lot of the season 1 fights didn't get enough time for proper research or the ideals of DB have changed since then or even in some cases just having the ability to redo a fight and make it look really impressive would be a fun opportunity.

I understand the idea of giving Tifa the supernova feat but that really feels more like a game mechanic then anything; Cloud has survived other similar feats but most the other cast of FF7 characters haven't. You can technically have Cid in the final fight with Sephiroth and have him survive supernova but I don't think Cid can survive being hit with a sun realistically. The man flies around and drinks for a living lmao. Context is important with some of these feats but ya'll know that.

Any game is going to have inconsistencies within the "vs. debate" context and that makes some of these feats sound irrational even if they can happen canonically. The best example to me is the durability argument for Zack, he scales to Cloud (who as they say can survive a literal supernova and react way beyond light speed) but dies to nameless Shinra grunts shooting him with their guns. Unless you want to try to prove that those bullets are flying 1000 c then that is something I just can't get behind.

Vincent is able to defeat a planet buster in his own game and move faster than light in combat.
