What a lovely trip. I personally prefer the rainy, misty atmosphere. Very magical. I’ve been wanting to visit Wales for a long time. One of my favorite books takes place partly in medieval Wales during the boarder wars-Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine. I also love to watch the various BBC farm series and two of them take place in Wales- Tales from the Green Valley and Edwardian Farm. Wonderful cultural history and mythology. That Devil’s Bridge was gorgeous. I bet that place was sacred once upon a time to the people in that area. Thank you for taking us along on this beautiful journey.

You hit the nail on the head, there is just something so mystical about Wales, it definitely feels closer to the land and old cultures than here in England. I love watching all those kind of programmes too, I feel so privileged I am having a go at making my own, feel like watching a bit of Edwardian Farm now - I love Ruth!!! x

I grew up spending lots of time in Mid Wales, My extended family owned property in Cwmbelan, a small village between Llandiloes and Llanguric, So a little further North than where you are familiar with, we used to go cockling at Ynyslas, buy Crabs at Aberwystyth, rockpooling at borth, fishing at our secret spot on the river Dulas, walking, or on just playing in the Brook at the bottom of the Garden, I was in North Wales all last week, we didn't get any further south than Aberdyfi though. I introduced my father/mother in law to Wales a few years ago after they moved up to the west midlands from London, they fell in love with the place. Havn't been to mid wales since leaving and coming back from Australia so about 15 years, I will have to put that right next year.

Congratulations for this amazing video, Lucy. And I really appreciated that you included the map. I felt as if I were there, in that mystical, eerie place. In the 19th century thousands of migrants came to Argentina, Welsh among others. The 150first ones arrived in 1865. Tens of thousands followed. Welsh mostly went to the province of Chubut, in Patagonia. They had Hard times, difficult weather, Hard work. But by the first decades of the 20th centra they had overcome those hardships and did really well. Nowadays many of the villages that they founded, like Gayman, Trevelin, etc, are visited by tourists from all over the World. They have beautiful tea houses. And have managed to keep their language alive. In 1995 Princess Diana came to see the whales and had tea in Gayman. I'm a fan of your channel. Thank you so much, Lucy

Ive started to plan a trip to go down there (very loose itinerary, hubby and i both prefer just like having a rough idea of places to go and are not city fans [too many people lol]). The only place we def have to go is a cool looking ice cream place 🤪 we are fine just looking at the gorgeous landscape/beaches 😃
@throughlucyslens4 ай бұрын
Loose itinerary's are the way to go, I never really plan anything. Just a vague area to drive around and see what happens 😂 the good news is you'll never find too many people in mid wales. Even in the middle of the week it's so quiet compared to what I am used to here. Which icecream place is it? There used to be loads of milk bars in wales, they were amazing, sadly all gone now 🥹

One of my pals went to Aberystwyth too! I didn't realise what a lovely place it was ... still living in Birmingham, can't imagine moving any time soon but loving getting out further afield x

Great ambience at that beach. De-stressing. Can't make the letters on the signs match the local pronunciations though. Great history to explore. Thanks❤

Welsh is so difficult! I only know some correct pronunciation because of being there so much and hearing it. It's a wonderful place and I barely scratched the surface x

They're in Wales - and a night's stay is free of charge where else do you get that(just replenish a couple of t-bags in the box), take a Do Not disturb sign(joke)!

I don't think I did, I would LOVE to sleep in one though, I have a good friend that does a lot of walking and she often uses them to rest - I didn't know there were any in Wales, in my head they were something I associated more with Scotland.

I've never been to Wales. It looks lovely and very Victorian. I would probably prefer to go when it's a bit bleak and miserable, whether thats a reflection of me these days I don't know, but I don't like the crowds of summer. That funicular railway is fantastic, beats Scarborough hands down.

Wales has an atmosphere all of its own - and I prefer it misty and mysterious too. I am also crowd adverse! You can't take things in when you are surrounded by lots of people x

@@throughlucyslens Good lord no - I enjoy seeing you as you are, hearing as you are and assume you at least employ fickle sticks. (completely made up, fickle-sticks are employed by the portrayed medievil manuscripts whereby herbs and spices are - can we leave it there?)

❤What an excellent video! So much beauty, gorgeous sunshine 🎉 & cute little camping pods...as well as a very pretty Lucy in her pink top (of which, please forgive me, I immensely dislike the writing, as you most certainly are not what it says!). I really enjoyed that but please please please do not damage yourself more, it is not worth it imnsho!
