My current favorite smaller booktubers are Soggy Expat Book Nerd, CriminOlly, Bookish Topics, and Ms Reads A Lot. Each one is unique and fun. I also love The History Shelf, but she reads mostly nonfiction history books. So, if you aren't into that, it would be a bit of a mismatch.

Thanks for a lovely video Simon. Fav books this year so far are: The Sentence by Louse Erdrich, Greenbanks by Dorothy Whipple; Clara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, Grown Ups by Marion Keyes, The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. A couple of KZbin channels I really enjoy are Literature Science Alliance and Tori Morrow. They are both mostly, but not completely SciFi and Fantasy, so perhaps not for you, but am sharing because it’s just to much fun to hear them talk about books they love.

I SO agree about reading by whim! I have let so many other things control my reading lately and it's not good! I absolutely loved Violets too! But I think that because it is such a quiet book, it seems to slip under the radar! The problem I have is about ordering books from the library and several come in at once and I feel pressured to read them when I would rather be reading something else! I actually think my best book of the year is going to be Chanel Miller's Know My Name. It has taken several months to read, but it is phenominal!

Have you gotten a new kitty statue for your bookcase? She looks like a Calico and she’s gorgeous. (She’s probably been there for awhile and I just haven’t noticed her.) I’m just getting into The Mercies and finding it a slow start. I hope the story picks up. I expect it will as everyone loves this book. I am very, very excited about Stone Blind. Medusa has always been one of my favorite myths. I just finished listening to my first Nicola Upson book in her Josephine Tey series. I randomly picked #5 in the series, The Death of Lucy Kyte, and I absolutely loved it. The Josephine character is one of my favorite new characters along with her love, Marta. I’m definitely going to continue with this series. Not sure if it’s the most beautiful, but the UK paperback of Cecily by Annie Garthwaite is shiny and gorgeous and I’m very much looking forward to reading it. Kate from Harris & Harris turned me on to this one. Hope the weather is cooperating! 📚📵 (for your off-the-grid getaway)
