Bunnicula is adorable, I remember reading it as a child way, way back in the early 80s and did a reread a couple of years ago.

@@leandrathetbrzero Maybe one day they will do a graphic novel adaptation. There are a number of books/series that run under the radar from the late 70s and 80s.

Love this. I think I’ll answer a few here: Thankfulness: Thankful for you! You’ve been a constant in most of my reading this year and it’s had a positive impact. 🫶 Book I needed: The Left Hand of Darkness. I was able to end 2023 reading a book I’d wanted to read all year with Tomorrow x3. Took me all year to get to. It was nice to start the year off with something I just wanted to read instead of putting it off. (Thanks TBRathon) Reflection: I DNFed like it was my job last year and I’ve probably only done it like 3 times this year. Bringing that energy back 🤣 Detox: I say I want to stop competitive readathons but TAR is the first one I’ve actually loved being a part of. Probably the realtime prompts to keep it fresh. Finally, looking forward to all our Patreon shenanigans this year. 🎉

Something that's really helped me DNF more is allowing myself to rate books I DNF. I feel like not letting yourself rate those books is only pushing yourself to read more of what you're not liking, so that you "deserve" to rate it

@@ChloeFrizzle I appreciate this recommendation. I will definitely keep it in mind, especially as I consider my rating habits/personal rules for 2025. My problem is rating a book I haven’t fully finished, especially when I might DNF a book simply because it isn’t for me. And if I am going to rate DNFs, then I rate them all and that makes things difficult in a different way. I’m going to have to mull this over more because you have brought up a great discussion point to consider! 🤗❤️

I need to focus on longer books in July. It's so tempting to do shorter ones, because you can do so many more of them, but there's something so satisfying about a detailed story. I need to make progress on my chunky books for 2024 pile. Not exclusively of course, short ones and different flavours in between, but there's some ones I'm really looking forward to that are over 600pgs and I need to start them.

Love this tag! I know I haven't been very vocal in the Patreon yet but it really is a great space that you are hopefully so proud of! Both yours and Brittany's do not feel like new patreons... So well thought out and planned! Ooh, I just purchased In Every Generation by Kendare Blake last month. I was debating it for a long time since I didn't watch the Buffy tv show but they just sounded so fun that I caved in the end, I hope I love them. 🤞 Also, all 3 of your anticipated releases are on my Kindle currently. I tried Wild Love by Elsie Silver last month. While it doesn't sound like it was as bad as the ones you read, it was bad. I read the whole thing (I confess, there was some skimming going on), but I'm not sure why (or how). She's a big no author for me going forward too.
