I had a giggle with a friend over the whiskey thing and she said that it had to have a name, since whiskey is "neat" when it's straight from the bottle no ice and "on the rocks" with ice...so she came up with "whiskey sloppy" for when the whiskey is spat out of someone's mouth. This will haunt me for years to come.

I've never read an Abby Jimenez book but I love her Tiktok tbh 😭 she's constantly being harassed by her incredibly silly dog & basically just posts goofball dog content with the occasional "oh yeah wait I'm an author I should probably advertise a book or smth"

For the unhinged woman recommendation, I just read You'd Look Better as a Ghost by Joanna Wallace, and I really enjoyed it. I don't think it was quite the comedy as it was advertised, the humor was more ironic humor than anything, but it had several good twists, and I liked the ending, which is a miracle for me.

Read Fourth wing on your recommendation and it's so... enjoyable that i was also like "what plotholes? I don't see 'em". Iron flame though, i have words about it. BUT. In general, a simple, fun series to read

I finally read the ACOTAR series and it really was a good time. Buddy read with my best friend, can follow along with all the memes now, and I do get the overall hype of it all. Have been doing some re-reading which is just good for my soul. My last read was Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall and it was so sweet and made me giddy.

i always love hearing your thoughts about books. im not a romance girlie but i might keep an eye out for those first three books. my current read is The Dragon’s Promise by Elizabeth Lim. i have a few gripes with the first 15 chapters to the point i had to put it down for several months. but ive finally gotten back to it and im reminded of why i love Lim’s characters and writing and ive been flying through it. i love fullmetal alchemist so im so happy to hear you’re still planning to continue the series! another manga series that i’ve recently gotten into is The Case Study of Vanitas. about a world where half of human society was turned into vampires and its so good.

For an unhinged lady book, I would recommend Woman, Eating by Claire Koda. Content warning for a lot of things but especially eating disorder rep, but it was unhinged in a way I really loved. Reminds me a bit of Natural Beauty, but it’s also its own thing for sure

Love Abby Jimenez so much ;____; I really liked Part of Your World, but I LOVED Yours Truly. I agree so much with what you said about loving her characters. Those two people, I love them both so much on their own and THEN THEY ALSO are so good for each other that it makes me want to cryyyyy. What did we do to deserve that? Can't wait to read Just for the Summer soon!

I had a similar experience with Y/N. at first I was like "this is weird, but I know it's meant to be weird, so I'm vibing." but I just kept getting more and more lost as I went on. I am 100% confident that I missed the point, I do not understand literature, and Esther Yi is either living on another mental plane or in the year 2136 where literature has ascended beyond the comprehension of my walnut brain.

The Stormlight Archive has been one of my faves this year, for sure, still need to catch up for the December release, haha. Also, just recently started the Murderbot Diaries series from Martha Wells and wow, they are refreshing and funny! Been binging them the last few weeks (reading it on phone first, and then listening to the audiobook with my partner). About to start the fourth one~! The worst ones, have been for the Monster Lovers book club I'm in. Like I've read better crappy fanfiction AUs than these self published ones, lol. Forbidden Ride by R.K. Galaga has an interesting cover, but holy hell is it unhinged in I'm not sure if this is really sexy for some people or was supposed to be a parody. Getting Freaky With Frankenstein was just terrible writing that went nowhere.

I haven’t read Done and Dusted, but it sounds like you might like The Wilds of Montana by Kristen Proby. Romance, family dynamics, interconnected books so you see the people from the books before and coming as the series continues. My favourite book so far this year is The Dagger and Forbidden Heir by Emilia Jae. Fantasy with romance, witty banter and multiple POVs that keep the tension up. I just started The Crimsoth Moth aka The Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli. I’ve been anticipating it and hope it’s everything I hope it will be.

My number one is a Korean sunscrene: Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel SPF 50. You can purchase it from Olive Young, YesStyle, or Stylevana. Also SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50 (also Korean). I prefer Korean sunscreens because they don't burn my eyes and blend in perfectly. US sunscreens: Neutrogena hydroboost, great for face and body, Naturium sunscreens (though more pricey), Black Girl Sunscreen if you have dry skin, Black Girl Sunscreen kids if you're more oily. Also Aveeno Protect and Hydrate sunscreen.
