Hi Krista, Just a gentle reminder to make that doctor appointment. Please make it now and go before cold and flu season comes with germs in the office. Taking care of your health is one of the best gifts you can give yourself!! You are worth it! XO

The luau would count for July’s social challenge💕 I’m doing okay with my challenges, I have way less than you, but I’m starting to burn out. I was just thinking yesterday I’m going to cut back on them next year. They make me set monthly tbr’s and while it was fun last year and the first part of this year, my mood reading me wants to get back in control and I feel like it might be putting me into a slump. I just can’t abandon them now so I am making myself push on, but I feel like next year I’m going back to mood reading primarily. I think you’re doing great❤️
@BooksAndJams

Yes, but also this singles retreat and Nicaragua can count. But I think the luau is the most like what I had in mind when I made the goal. I think I may cut back on my challenges next year too. Maybe do seasonal goals instead of yearly ones. Let them go if you're feeling stress because of them. No need to get to the point of burnout! It's not worth it.

Krista, you are amazing! I love your positive outlook. My biggest goal this year was to get rid of “stuff” I don’t need or use. I got rid of “sentimental” things like old gifts which meant so much to me when I received them. Now, I cannot even remember who gave them to me! This clean-out has been a completely positive experience. Most importantly, my two bestest friends (both in their 70’s) have health concerns, as do I. I try to touch base with them everyday. I need to do better with contact toward my other friends as well. Retirement is a busy time in life! 😂

I lost my journal with my list of goals, if that tells you anything. LOL financial goals are good, health goals are improving (today was day 1 training for a 5K run with my 12 yr old), letter writing is a flop. My reading goals this year have evolved. First I planned to only read 30 books and get a bunch of the big books off my tbr, then I changed it to 30 catholic books plus classics, then 30 catholic books including fiction catholic authors and classics. I'm around 20 from that growing catholic category and I lost count of the classic category. My tbr pile is huge. One of my booktubers mentioned a reading bingo and that might actually help get through my piles if I can find one in a similar reading style to mine.

I recently watched a video about how to print book covers! The KZbin channel is named JashiiCorrin and it was posted about a week ago. I'm sure there are plenty of others as well. On my birthday last year I made a list of books I wanted to read by my next birthday. Over the following month it rose to 45 books. I’m not going to finish them all unless I give up going whole hog into Series September and Victober (which I love to do). I've read 31 so I'm not doing too badly (69% and I still have some time). There are just so many interesting things to read. The BookTuber Qwordy, to celebrate her birthday (the same as yours), announced "The Hardest Reading Challenge You've Ever Done". I’m wondering if I can do it. Well, I'm not going to follow her rules and I'm changing a couple of her prompts/challenges so it's not really her challenge I'm doing but I'm hoping it will get me out of a rut. Her goal is primarily to promote independent authors. Mine is to try new things. Whether I do it or not it’s been fun planning. Thanks for the video! I always love goal check-ins.

I always enjoy your check-ins and love your no-stress approach with them. I used to have a goals of the year list and accomplishments of the year list back in my 20’s before children. Since then I have loose goals in my head but I forget them half of them time. 🤪 The last couple years I keep meaning to try having a few goals written down to see if that keeps me more organized. Maybe next year. 😆

Like all your goals, but like you said, if you don't achieve them successfully, that is okay it just fun to track them. I only make reading goals, I have the series goal and have achieve a lot, but still more to go, hopefully in Series September, I have read a lot off my shelves I like to put a goal of reading one non-fiction a month, but fell off that from May till now I also had a goal to read books recommended to me, I read 5 of them and I wanted to read some back list books from 4 authors and only read 1 book for each, I think next year only pick 2 of those authors. I read 14 Kindle books this year, wasn't a goal, but had to since some books have small print for me to read even with glasses. I do the Buzzword challenge. but missing two of them, if I find a book fits the prompt, but if I don't I am fine with that. Its just a fun thing to follow.

Krista, in the book world, author Eugenia Price is synonymous with St. Simons, GA. You probably know of her, but if not, check her out. She writes antebellum historical fiction and Christian non-fiction. The Beloved Invader, part of her St. Simons trilogy, is my favorite. I recently thrifted Eugenia Price’s South by Mary Bray Wheeler. If you can put your hand on a copy, take it along. It’s a great guidebook to her work and the area. Maps etc. 😊
