I totally get the "I don't feel like vlogging" vibe. It gets in my way a lot.

O.M.G. Me too! Outside of reading, my personality is pretty much RPDR along with all its memes and quotes. 😃 I listened to the audiobook of RuPaul's memoir and I was torn about it. I loved that he read it and it was fascinating to know more about his life but the overall takeaway I felt from him was "don't take life seriously and just have fun" which I feel is just very privileged and....flazéda. lol.

Not flaze da! Lol Pearl. I mean, idk, I guess? I felt like her went through some hardships and had to work his way through, but there were definitely some moments of luck and delusion.

Birdie sounds really interesting! I love an unreliable narrator

Is it weird to say you really sold Birdie to me. Hahaha. Where The Streets Had a Name sounds brilliant. I’m going to see if I can get that here. Minor Detail packs such a punch, I thought it was incredible. Oh and I’ve read a few Matt Haig’s and don’t get the hype still. Hahaha.

Oh, I think you'd love Birdie! My not liking it was probably a me thing. And I'm 150% here for you reading Where The Streets Had a Name!

Sounds like you read a lot of good stuff! Good to know about RuPaul's book - Ive thought about reading the audiobook too. RPDR is also what I spend a big chunk of my time watching videos on

@@booksaremysociallife yes! I have so much criticism of RuPaul as a person but the show and queens from the show have taken over at least half of my brain, I fear. I only started watching a year or two ago, but I watched every season I could find of the original and All Stars! I just haven't seen the first 2 seasons and I'm not caught up on the recent ones. I recently finished s2 and 3 of Canada and am in the middle of the Down Under season (they recently put them on Tubi!). I've also watched so much Trixie and Katya + other podcasts from the queens occasionally, not to mention the tier lists and lore videos... and 75% of the music I listen to at this point is all by Ru girls, it seems.

The Humans is actually my favorite of Matt Haigs books - the other ones feel a bit too much surface level. While I do recommend checking out „How to stop time“ and maybe also „The Midnight Library“ by him, I do want to acknowledge that the hype probably stems mostly from white people as it is very western centric - which is nothing bad but might be a reason why you dont fully connect with his work 😊 but i am interested to see what you think of his other work

I did feel like the book was very white. It was meant to be a commentary on "humanity," but a lot a lot of what was in the story felt very applicable to white Britain, which is fine but didn't make for a very poignant read.

@@booksaremysociallife exactly - I felt it was super deep at the time & I still believe it has some very good commentary. But I am also white 🥸 And I totally see how non-white people would not connect to his books at all bc it simply does not include them in a meaningful way
