I had two 5⭐️ reads in August - This Tender Land and The Frozen River. Loved seeing Savannah and the bookstore (which looks so spacious and light filled!). Also, I love that you’re helping the foxes! (Animal lover here)🦊 😊

Heather- you are so fun! I am here for the ride! One if my top picks for this year is What The Wind Knows by Amy Harmon. It was a time travel type premise and that is a favorite of mine.

Great scenes from around Savannah. I love that you’re making breakfast for the foxes. 🦊 ❤ My favorites from the first half of the year are probably I Who Have Never Known Men, and The Ship of Magic which is the first book of a fantasy trilogy by Robin Hobb.

Hi Sarah! I really need to try Robb. I feel like if there’s a fantasy series I’d enjoy, it’d be from her 🤞🏼🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks for watching 💕

I like it! Love the tour in pictures. Beautiful pictures, beautiful place. Still waiting for All the Colors of the Dark. Seems it's getting mixed reviews. I've always had a weird fascination with snakes. Totally agree on North Woods! Three of my faves this year, The Women, The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon and The Briar Club by Kate Quinn. I've had a pretty good reading year so far.

Totally agree re North Woods! Favs so far this year would have to be In Memoriam by Alice Winn and Same As It Ever Was by Claire Lombardo. Ordinary Human Failings is up there too.

Hi Heather, Love your content in any way shape or form! One of my favorite books this year is The Story of Edgar Sawtelle 😢. I have had it on my shelves forever, finally got to it and it was spectacular.

Enjoyed the view of Savannah and especially your bookstore! My reading year has been pretty eh too ... but it is starting to look up! No 5-star reads yet but I did like Tana French's The Hunter and also Liz Moore's The God of the Woods .. both 4 stars. I only just started James by Percival Everett but it already feels like it *could* be my first 5-star read! 🤞🏼All three of these have been THIS month! Before that a lot of 3 stars and DNFs.

Savannah is beautiful, isn't it? Thank you for sharing. I love that you cook for your foxy neighbors 🥰. I just finished Because of Winn-Dixie. It was wonderful! I think that you recommended it. Thank you!! Two of my best reads through June have been The Last Devil to Die by Osman and A Darkness More Than Night by Connelly. My most enjoyable reads were the first 7 of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Crazy fantasy with magic and were creatures and monsters, but I loved them!! Kate is a strong, independent, sarcastic protagonist - my favorite kind!! Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

@readingwithavengeance I had the pleasure of visiting Savannah about 15 years ago. It's very much like Charleston and New Orleans, but all 3 are very individual as well. I simply love all the squares!! I live outside of Birmingham, so you are only about a 7 hour drive.

Great tag Answers. I read a ton of literary fiction and standard mysteries are my go to for comfort. I don’t read fantasy or romance, unless the romance is part of the literary fiction. I used to read a ton of romance when I was much younger we are about even on the number of books we read, but I don’t stress out about numbers. As long as I’m enjoying what I’m reading I’m fine. Aloha friend.

Hi Heather, loved this video! I've read a lot of average books just recently, but a couple of standouts have been Held by Anne Michaels, James by Percival Everett, We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, Surrender by Ray Loriga, Chocolat by Joanne Harris - though I love the movie more! And a Boy and His Dog at the End of the World that I bumped up my tbr after your review!
