Love that sweater! You did great. It is so hard to watch our fur babies grow older. I can completely relate with my 10 year old Lab mix. She’s my sweetie. I really enjoyed The Firm back in the day. Too bad The Exchange was such a bad follow-up. Yay for Book Lovers! If you end up wanting more romance authors similar to Emily Henry, I’d recommend any of the three latest books by Abby Jimenez. They’re part of a companion series and they also have that women’s lit/romance combo. Take care of yourself and I hope you find some books that bring you joy.

Heather, so sorry to hear of Zoe’s health problems. It hurts so much to have our beautiful babies age and decline. We love them so much. You are giving her a lovely life and she will transition peacefully when that time comes. I think of my pets at the Rainbow Bridge and imagine them healthy and running and playing as they did in their prime. I still remember each and there have been many throughout the years, and the memories always comfort me.💗💕 Don’t give up thrillers. Read Night Watching it is so good, and The First Lie, both debut novels and great. You are reading the wrong thrillers, I also remember not liking that Stacey Willinghame.

I liked Trascendent Kingdom but absolutely adored Homegoing. I can't really get into suspense/thrillers anymore. The only recent exception was Small Mercies by Dennis Lehane just because of the characters and historical context.

Nice to hear someone else feels the same about sex scenes. I really don’t mind if a book has one included, but after reading quite a few romance novels throughout the years, I find myself skipping these scenes just to get back to the plot. 😄

Wonderful reviews, as always! I have been an avid mystery reader for many decades and find most of the recent publications to be disappointing. So, I stick to my backlist of favorite authors - Dennis Lehane, Michael Connelly, John Sandford, Greg Iles, etc. The WP this year just reinforces my belief that my interests don't align with those of a critic or a judge. I'm done with even trying any of them in the future until many reviews by regular folks are available! My 2 best recent reads are: A Darkness More Than Night by Connelly and I Shall Not Want by Julia Spencer-Fleming. (The Spencer-Fleming series should be read in order.) Thank you for the video and your time and energy in sharing your love of books!

Sorry to hear about Zoe. I have a rescue beagle who it going thru the arthritis part. Really bad arthritis but still able to function. Yes we love our senior furbabies. I have watched a number of KZbin videos with all this fiction prizes and I have not read any of them but for some reason they just don’t appeal to me. I do wonder if books like everything else is effects by diversity instead of quality. I think everything should be diverse but it should also be of good quality.🙂

The Firm was my first John Grisham that lead me to read more. I agree with you on The Exchange. I listened to it but found it to be so disconnected to The Firm. Lost interest but stuck it put til the end. Disappointing.

Sorry about Zoe but you have the right attitude, we do our best for them. Fun sweater! I can’t knit or crochet. I liked Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, well written but also a bit slow. Too bad about The Exchange. I really liked Book Lovers and I don’t read romance typically. Going to order The List of Suspicious Things, love a good coming of age story. Maybe Britney didn’t want others to sexualize her but she feels comfortable expressing herself in that way as long as SHE initiates it? Her Instagram and her TikTok accounts are kind of disturbing I think. I’m reading Ender’s Game, have been trying to read more classic sci fi.
