Thanks for the video! Could it be made possible to daisy chain a second insert to the mains? I would love to compress the mix with the LA2A but dont want to sacrifice the graphic eq.

Yes. Send the LR to a matrix and insert the GEQ or LA2A there.

By inserting a geq on L&R main or a buss, aux send will that cause latency, destructive offset, comb filtering?

If you insert a stereo GEQ to lets say Mixbus 1&2, can you use these 2 groups as separated monitor groups?

Yes, but you will have no independent control over the GEQ. If you want that, choose the Dual EQ.

Nice video, so there's no in-line EQ built in for the outputs? If we do EQ like the way the video show, we are losing effect engines that we can use for something else.

+Apache Cai Every channel has its own 4-band EQ with separate low cut, and every mix bus and matrix has its own 6-band EQ. Video is just showing how to use the 31-band GEQ as a channel insert.

A combination. EQ each channel in line but also use an insert EQ for main LR.

+Apache Cai A parametric eq sounds a lot more natural than a graphics eq. It isn't right or wrong to use one or the other but you may use them for different jobs. For instance, I like to use both, a parametric scoops out frequencies in a much smoother way, where as, a graphics eq literally only pulls out that one specific frequency that you choose, which helps when eliminating feedback in the PA. Hope this helps!

Set both send paths to insert, then go to the channel or bus you want to insert the GEQ, go to config and select rack one L or R, press insert and you are done.

Why aren't there just 1/3 octave eqs assigned to L/R and the busses by default. Sorry but parametrics do not cut it for tuning monitors and FOH. Never have, never will. Looks like you're eating up f/X engines to get something which is basically essential. FWIW I've been making my living from live sound for over 35 years, so I understand graphic vs parametric. Hear an 8k feed in a monitor mid show you do not want to be piddling around with a parametric.

we were thinking about upgrading from our x32 to the midas m32 but jeez why won't you guys make a true recording mixer. there are just too many annoying work arounds when using these consoles in the studio. if the m32 had direct channel outs and spdif input or easily recording the channel strip effects and other things we need in the studio it would be killer. oh well guess you can't have everything.

What a lame way just to use GEQ on the console bc all X air series you can choose GEQ instantly on every channels including mixbus and main LR without having to patch anything . . .stupid design.
