Welcome back to yet ANOTHER Tomb Raider game!
We're now playing "Anniversary" - and yes, I know, Legend was released before this. BUT I heard that chronologically, this comes first, so I decided to start with this. Hope you'll enjoy my first playthrough of this game!

Hej guys! 1. I'm aware of a sneaky black-screen in the video, we're working on editing those out here on YT, but the rendering takes a while before it takes effect. If you stumble upon additional ones to the black screen around 15:27 let me know and we remove those too! 2. Sorry for the abrupt ending to this video.. The game bugged out for me. The characters from the cutscene were floating in the room and I was still in the "boss fight arena". You can see that in the beginning of Part 5 once it's out. I had it up to here at this point and just wanted my dinner hahah.

it's so so wonderful to watch this Anniversary with you because I played it many years ago and I can barely remember anything, it's like rediscovering it (and the pain in the ass some puzzles were 😂😂)

with the pillars that go down into the ground once you jump on them? Man that was nasty hahaha

The trick is that they'll only do the Medusa thing when their rage meter fills up, so you can start approaching the shields in advance and also let go of the aim button as quickly as possible, and maybe using the shotgun when they turn into stone as well. It's actually one of my favorite boss fights for the most part 😂

I also forgot that I could switch weapons with the D Pad. I was so overwhelmed with this fight haha

27:10 That's because secrets are saved immediately, and regular game items like keys or ammo are not, probably because you can revisit levels later to get the secrets that you missed and you can quit as soon as you grab them instead of having to finish the level. Any secrets that you picked up never reappear in subsequent level replays unless you create another save file

Well done Lizz, I remember that stage of the game and I had the same feelings, but when you work it out and get through it , and look back on it, you are one of the few who have got pass that point , congratulations you are a true Tomb Raider , [ Tomb Raider Lizz ]

Greetings from London! This game has got to be up there with the best of the series! I wish they followed the same rule of thumb for the other classics! I think you'll absolutely LOVE Legend, if you haven't played it before of course. Follows the exact same play style and some new cool moves too! Just some tips! With the weapon selection, if you press either left or right on the directional pad, you can cycle through her weapons. Much easier when you need a shotgun immediately. You can also use the triangle button to traverse edges quicker too! Helpful in later levels. To swandive, press the jump and roll button together whilst going forward. Great job on this Chonk Queen! Loving the gameplay

There were a few times you had me talking to my screen say " Lizz, go here, try this " only to remind myself you can't hear me, ahhahaha! 😂 The part with the Half Horse Creatures was where I really wanted to help, though. It's definitely not obvious what to do to begin with and is rather a tough challenge. Had you not figured it out yourself as you did, I was going to help as I could see how much it was bothering you. 1:41:24 This is the pair I spoke of. It wasn't until I watched a playthrough of the original tomb raider that I realised somebody on the team really overcompensated for the cistern cuts but from this battle onwards everything else is walking around smelling moss and the sweat and determination of lara and seeing the beauty of the locales.

It looks like you loved the centurion horse creatures so much that you now what to get a couple for pets and don't forget to buy and feed them health packs, they love health packs lol

You can move sideways quicker when you are hanging from a ledge by pressing the Interact button (Triangle). Also, when swimming, Lara will go faster if you press the Interact button rhythmically in time with her arm stroke movements. That boss fight is tricky at first, but once you know what to do with the mirror shields and grappling hook, it becomes a lot easier. Using the shotgun when you turn the centaurs to stone will kill them much faster than using the pistols.

I really love that you play tomb raider and specially my favorite one anniversary but i have to put the speed to 2x 😅 because it's so hard to watch something that i know but taking so long to be done i know it's your first time playing it thanks you really love your playing too 😁❤️

Your reaction when you stepped on the platform in the fire room was on point 😂 I've played this game a couple times and in some of the playthroughs the platform that you step on buggs out and it doesn't even start the fires 😅

@@LIZZgame oh it really is, I got this game back in 2007 when it just came out, mind you at that point I didn't even have internet access at home, so it took me a lot of time and deaths to figure it out, especially the egyptian puzzles 🤯

I love this bossfight, it reminds me of Zelda 64 and the two witches. It took me a while to figure out I had to not look at them and reflect their attacks with the shield xD.

I don’t know how any players in 2007 ever made it past that boss fight without the help of the Internet. Granted, maybe if you spent enough time actually studying the fight you’d see the “trick,” but I don’t know how you wouldn’t have rage quit long before that point. (I struggled multiple times even once I learned what I was supposed to be doing!)

The seemingly useless diary with Lara's thoughts does give you hints for the boss fight. It took me most of an afternoon to figure it out but once you know what you're doing it's not too bad.

If I had to rank the LAU trilogy, it would be Anniversary, then Underworld, and Legend in last place. It’s not that Legend is bad, it’s just so much shorter and more streamlined than any other TR game, so it lacks the sense of exploration, and it holds your hand too much, rarely letting you figure out the puzzles on your own. I think it was really designed as an entry-level game.

Legend really does sound like a good entry-point for the trilogy. Many told me to start with it, but I heard the stories of Legend and Underworld are directly linked.. So I figured we start at the "start". I REALLY liked Anniversary, excited to see the other two games, soon!

Hey Lizz. You have the option in TR1 not to even fight those two beasts at the end of Tomb of Tihocan. You just enter that building and ignore them and finish the level, and you even get an achievement for not killing them. That makes this game waaay worse then. ha

yeah I just figured that later. Since all tutorial prompts were for Mouse and Keyboard, I stopped paying attention to them at some point.. Or maybe the game never told me how to climb and shimmy faster. Anyway, I do it in Part 5 or 6..

@@LIZZgame I believe it tells you how to use it exactly at the begining, outside of "The Cave" but yes, you're totally right! It's weird! Also, maybe you didn't see the other comment of mine. The head shoot slow motion move works as long as you have the guns out.
