Sure, but I'm not really a rules guy. :) I will say though, once you get it, the game is SUPER smooth. I read the rules twice, and watched the official videos twice, and I feel like I have them down. I'm sure lots of other viewers will point out ALL THE MISTAKES you make! :) LOL!

Love your play through, it is especially helpful when you do a close up on the dice roll results so that we can see the calculations but I think it would be even more helpful if you were to add the card used into the dice tray so we can see where the extra damage from the symbols came from

I started rewatching your play through again I noticed at around 25:20, weren’t you supposed to roll the purple, orange, and black dies? You rolled orange, white, and black instead since you were making an attack and not casting whereas you would then roll a white die. Unless I’m just confusing myself on how combo weapons actually work

Great job as always Bairnt. One point. Intelligent combatants won't jump more than 2 spaces. So they wouldn't have come at you until you moved the rock. The good news is you probably wouldn't have gotten the urgency token.

Kevin Erskine thanks. glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment. I looked into this. The two cave sickles did only jump over 2 squares of the pit making the move legal. They wouldn’t have jumped any farther then they did for sure. Hope that makes sense. They reference it in their rules video number 8 as an example of jumping. Great job with the game play! Your minis look really nice painted, the sickles look awesome! I think you got the rules nailed very well, one comment - when you activate a totem ( in this case the blue totem) once resolved you can remove it from the board. Your movement, adding urgency and everything else seems right on!

Did you paint your minis yourself? If so, I'd love to get into it. What do I need to get these going?

Yes I did paint the minis my self. If your interested in painting there are some great videos that show you how to begin. I picked up some small brushes from my local hobby store like hobby lobby jo Ann fabrics or Michle’s. Sizes 1,0,00 would be good to start. Then Games Workshop is the paint I use. They have a spray primer called grey seer. After they are primed I paint with contrast paints from Games Workshop. They are kinda pricy but I like them a ton. If your looking for a good set of videos on how to paint middara minis Robs Tabletop World did a series on it. The materials i mentioned is how I started. Since then I bought an airbrush and prime with that since I live in Minnesota so it’s too cold to prime outside in the winter. Your welcome. glad you enjoyed it. I haven’t played 2 player variant. I don’t think I would play it that way that of course is my opinion. I like to control all four people gives me more a way to customize the way to build characters. I love this game!!

The brand in use is Mayday and I get the 125% thicker ones they come in packs of 50 I use them on cards that shuffle a lot and the regular thickness on ones I don’t shuffle like the item cards that they have. Hope that helps Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍

I have a question about line of sight. The rules state that the edges of the tile block line of sight. Would Remi be able to see the blue totem at the ~9.5 minute mark? If so, Would you have to be on the edge of the first tile, or on the 2nd tile? Thanks again for the great playthrough!

Maybe edge of the tile is referring to if no other tile is adjacent?

That’s a great question. I did some research. “The edge of a tile”. Does refer to if it is crossing an area where a tile isn’t. I hope that makes sense. So the LoS in the video is correct. If this changes I will let you know. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

Just one little rule clarification for you, step 7 on page 43 in the rulebook: "If the Attack missed, the Attack immediately ends and skips the Follow Up step." The Cave Sickle would not have been able to attempt to poison Remi when its melee attack missed.

It sure is 😃😃! Sadly I can’t take credit for the idea, many other board game channels do the same thing. I can catch some of the mistakes and add them in during editing, but the ones the community helps with I have to put in a subtitle channel. Everyone makes mistakes and it is a great way for the community to help make sure the playthroughs are as close to correct as possible. Throwing knives are nice, but you have to buy them again, correct? It's not like after resting you get all consumables back. Or am I wrong?

Throwing knives are cool, but you are correct. You don’t gain them back when you rest you have to discard them. you either have to buy them during story rounds, or You can also gain them back if your told to draw a random consumable and you get lucky. Hey there, just finished this, it’s an amazing video and play through. I am interested in this game and you’re doing a great job explaining as you’re go. One concern I have is that this game looks really easy so far. Is that due to the “tutorial” nature of this mission? Seems like all the enemies are constantly missing and the heroes are able to try and try and try again in order to get hits in. Is that normal for how the gameplay goes? The heroes seem OP a bit (granted I’ve only watched this so far)

Thank you for the complement. I can understand what you mean. I’m actually a board game expert so I make everything look easy😂😂😂. I am kidding of course 😃. The nature of the first four encounters are weighted in the heroes favor. You can take some major damage if your not careful, but there are many ways to avoid and heal damage. The game opens up quite a bit after the first 4 encounters. This is why I stoped the series at that point.... at least for now 😉. I will be returning to Middara. The game will be doing a reprint Kickstarter plus more, this summer which will give you an opportunity to get a copy of you don’t already have one. When you play this, do you always need 4 characters or 2 is enough?

That’s a great question. It is built for 4 characters. There is a variant where you can play with 2. This adds some extra health and an ability from one of the other characters that you decide not to use. The narrative also includes the character names but you can play with 2 or 3. I would change the jump rules so that you can only jump in a straight line. It makes thematic sense, and since this is an ameritrash game, Theme > Rules.

Great comment . It would be more thematic. If that is what they are looking for. I do know they are taking all things into consideration while preparing for the next Kickstarter. Send them an email about jumping others may feel the same way and they may patch the rules. Thanks for the sharing your thoughts.

@@MeetMeAtTheTable On the other hand it makes jumping harder. Also it's unlikely a character is going to zig-zag, so thematically a sideways jump could be seen as a diagonal jump, so thematic consistency restored.

Hahahaha glad you were able to restore consistency. Personally I like the jumping mechanics it adds and interesting dynamic few dungeon crawlers use it.
