what does third meter spike mean?
@jrniels8 жыл бұрын
Neil Jerson Abanilla On a court, 3 meters (or ten feet) away from the net is a line similar to the free throw or 3 point line in basketball. This line extends across the entire width of that court and indicates where back row players can make an attack from. Many teams such as the USA and Brazil will run a back court attack called a pipe, this means that a back row player (usually the outside hitter) will run and jump behind the line and hit the ball while in the air. You can look up a videos about a back row attack here on KZbin to see how it works. In this case, a three meter spike would refer to when the ball is hit and makes contact with the floor between the three meter line and the net. This is usually due to the extremely sharp angle of contact that the middle blocker makes with the ball. Outside and opposite hitters can also perform three meter spikes, but is usually more likely for a middle to hit a 3 meter spike. This is also can be called bouncing the ball to a degree. Hope this makes sense and helps!

middle blocker is basically the laziest position. thats why i like it
@OutlyingFruit3 жыл бұрын
Not really. You have to watch where the ball goes, watch the setter’s movements, watch the hitters’ movements, run to either end of the court in order to stop or at least get a touch on the ball. Not to mention having to run quick sets. Most of this is just in a matter of seconds too
@21dxminic133 жыл бұрын
Personally, the laziest position in my opinion is the setter. It sort of just stays in one spot most of the time. Im not saying setter pos is easy but it definitely is the one requiring the least movement.

@@21dxminic13, Setter is the most challenging positioning, the laziest is probably the opposite position.

@@OutlyingFruit One of the most highest intensity, tbh, if u ask me. Especially during longer rallies.
