At 8:10. If the rules for battle companies are the same as the standard game, the spear support is NOT engaged, so you CAN shoot him - however from the camera it looks like the Dwarf didn't have a clear LoS so can't shoot as theres a risk of hitting his mate with in the way tests.

Yup, pg.84 of the rule book explains the spear rule. Counts the same in BC

Love Battle Companies! Great system to have in your back pocket since you can pretty much play any company against any other regardless of warband rating. Also it really lends itself to the emerging story.

Yay! Battle Companies are a lot of fun. Our group is starting up our second campaign in a few weeks, and I'm stoked. Now I have these fames to look forward to too! One quick rules note for future reference (since it wouldn't have made any difference this game): Spearmen (and pikemen) that are supporting a combat are considered unengaged, so they can be targeted by good models. In this game, the combat itself was in the way, so the dwarves couldn't take the shot. Still, if an archer can get around to take a clear shot, they can snipe the spears. This can be a really handy tactic for dwarves, who traditionally have no spear support of thein own. It can especially effective if you can to take out the middle rank of a pikeman a formation!

21:10 Once broken members of the attacker's battle company are required to make courage tests to move. Not largely relevant but they have around a 50% chance to flee.

Nice to see those dwarves take to the field. Those dwarf dice did not roll great - also a bit hard to see results on the camera due to the color.

None are unplayable but some are much much better than others such as Rangers which will quickly become out of control.
