I teach middle school art and I’m so very excited about the Mona Lisa Vanishes! My students know that Mona Lisa is my BFF and tease me about it. Missed out on reading any of the Little House on the Prairie books and will have to read one of those as I grew up with the show and loved it. So excited!

Immigration stories are incredible. You already showed Refugee which was great but there’s so many. Other Words for Home (in free verse), It’s not so Awful Falafel, Echo, When Stars are Scattered (graphic novel), Illegal (graphic novel). One word titles: Alone (in free verse), Odder (also in free verse and animal story!) Animal stories: The One and Only Ivan, Odder, Sign of the Beaver, Hoot. Great prompts!

MGM is my favorite challenge ever! The Mona Lisa story is one I’d probably never pick up on my own, but I’m really excited to read it with all of you. I may even break down and buy a copy of the book for all the illustrations. REQUEST: please give us a list of the books we will be reading every month before MGM starts. The Middle Grade book(s) I feel I’ve missed out on is The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson. Two of our four kids have flown through them and absolutely raved about them, and I’ve got a tonne of friends who have both read the books and watched the animated series, and talk about their love for both regularly! The first book in the series is also Andrew Peterson’s debut, and several of the books in the edition that I own have animals on the cover-so I’m checking off several prompts at once!!
