@weatherdan882002 I believe it was something with the materials used in the attic, but I'm not a hundred percent sure on that. I do know the building is non ADA in any way and we have a couple handicap students so they would have to walk down onto the street and around the building to get into the lower half. I know there was some asbestos at one point in time.

Generally in an abandoned building the only time the FD will go in is if there is actual signs of a fire. If the monitoring company still was watching the system the FD was probably dispatched when the pull station was pulled but when they saw there was no fire and that they found out the building was abandoned they packed up and left

I remember in the description it said the school district said it would cost too much or didn't want to invest the money needed to bring the building up to ADA and other codes.

It was a Faraday FireWatch II panel. Had various Faraday/Simplex horns (one Edwards Integrity remote horn) and pulls. The system was installed in 1991. This school has since been demolished, however the address is 505 Nevada St, Portola, CA.
