Ratlvr is right. MCR rock and their lyrics are intense and a commentary on society, which is pretty fucked up these days. MCR are awesome - they're TWO guys with incredible drive. Their sound is awesome -finally some great new rock (they've been around for a few years actually but are getting their credit finally). Love you guys! Keep the awesomeness coming!!

I always thought the lyrics said "Go ahead, yeah, fuck it up. The next guy pays for it." As in "Why do you care about keeping things orderly, when in the end someone else will have to clean up your mess?" I always took most of this song as a sort of pseudo anthem for people who actually do something worthwhile (and thus everyone else relies on them to do the actual work). You know what? Fuck it. I'm giving it the meaning I want. Good music can be subjective or vague.

Subjective i agree, but i can make an deep cut into those lyrics: "The days keep dragging on Those rats keep pushing on, The slowest race around We all just race around" - Rat race. Days are just same stuff all over again, nothing is changing. Under some kind of pressure, just to fill the norm/goal of something. So there is no dynamic and joy anymore. "And when the hope's gone the weight falls on me Yeah, when I'm gone the weight falls on me" - The main character of this song is saying, that when all hope is gone, everything will fall on him. Even worse: if he can't trust yourself anymore, he lost everything. He is just gone, but he need his own self if he want to survive all that fall. "No sense in signing up, your name's already in Go ahead, yeah, fuck it up, the next guy pays for it 'Cause what I get ain't half of what I give And half don't suit me anyway" - You don't have to to take the responsibility of your own shit - cause you are already WITHIN the race after you will be born. You need to face your own worst demons - the next line i can see from two perspectives; 1) Go ahead, go for your own goals - the other guy next to you, will take the best from you. You will became an inspiration for all those people around you, if you will show your determination. 2) Or just you can fuck everything up, like always. The people, your friends and family, will take all the shit with you, so you will take them with you into the endless spiral of failures. If you will stuck at one spot, you will never grown - then, you will fuck everything up. - The main character is giving 100% into something, but what he will get back, is not even the half of all the energy and stuff. And even if he will get back at least the half - he wants the full cake for himself, cause he did everything for that. He is still fighting even, if he can't take it anymore. "Maybe I sacrifice To feel like I'm alive Penniless, it’s all the same At least I'll die with a name I ain't dead yet Give it back Or i'll take it " - He will sacrifice himself, so he can feel alive finally. He will destroy the cycled, endless string of failures. At least, he can try - he will do that, so people will remember him for the act! And the best part is, he is not dead yet. He will take it, 100% cut, no half anymore - he is too busy to bein born again, each day. :)
