I grew up before cell phones. I had all of my friends home telephone numbers memorized, now I have trouble remembering even my own phone number sometimes. The numbers are stored in my cell phone why would I use my brain. A.I will be the same, everyone will let A.I do the thinking for them. This will have far worse implications than simply not having to remember phone numbers anymore. Lawyers are using it to research precedents to form their defense. Doctors using it to cross reference medications. Police using it to solve crimes etc. This is just the beginning. Soon everyone will be banned from driving cars because A.I driving is a safer alternative. “It’s for everyone’s safety” just like Covid when everyone was forced to wear a mask. Until it became the norm and then people would get mad when they seen someone without a mask and report them.

yup, something about all of that 'tech help' has never sat right with me. Some things were never meant to be delegated and my generation does not know the difference. Even child upbringing we have left to tech and I am wondering what will become of a humanity that is increasingly devoid of critical thought and resourcefulness.

I didn’t know I needed this..I’ve had undeserved blind faith in so many things because I was unaware. I graduated high school and learned trade. The corruption in US is out of control. I’m angry at what I was taught in school. Bare minimum. Our education system can do much better. They get angry that there are so many uneducated and now they are trying to get rid of the bit of education available. I have learned thru some of these video Mr. Bolsen posts. I am grateful for his knowledge. We thought our government actually cared about its people but it’s nothing but greed. I hate it here. I did not want to be born here and I don’t pledge my allegiance to this mess. Mr.Bolsen is that professor I needed.❤ classy. Devonaire..historic. I appreciate. Gives me strength.

This subject has been thought about, maybe for longer than people realise. In 1930, E M Forster wrote a short novel called 'The Machine Stops.' It tells the story of what happens to humanity after they devolve everything to machines to do their work and thinking for them. It doesn't end well.

While I support many of the threads he talks about esp. on creativity and originality, I have been involved with AI for more 40 years and I see it as an invaluable way to deploy fixed learning to a wide base and have consistent responses esp. in mission and safety critical endeavours as invaluable. Adding randomness into parts of the processes can aid a learning process. I don't have a TV, but likewise am a musician so strongly buy into the importance of talent and creativity. The danger is when people rely solely on AI and process automation and stop thinking, instead of using the knowledge as a stepping stone to further heights.

I don't always drink what you're serving. But when I do, boy, is it a jolt of common sense. Real skills and talent are in seriously short supply. We need to teach, mentor, inspire, and empower people to be self-sufficient. Tech tools to make life easier or expand our repertoire is one thing. But, dependancy and dopamine have become the new norm.

Literally in expands to all creative fields... Be it signing, computer-aided translation, writing songs, book/movie plots, essays, disserations, academic articles, peer-reviewing or even school projects. I know and heard of HS and college students who are now dependent on it. Nobody searches online enough for facts, new info, to write their own stuff, make their own synthesis anymore, they don't even rephrase it and what's tragic is they don't even understand what they copied nor can they answer basic questions about it and MANY are nonchalant about this, which makes it scary and potentially a poison to our God-given human intellect.

@@Wearewhatyoucreated But this is one of his points... The west is always assuring itself that 'its not just them, its the entire world..' always making excuses and pointing the finger yet, very few of them actually leave the country to validate this 'condition'. Most of you even know for a fact that your owners and their media lie to you ad nauseam. But you keep trusting what they tell you about the world outside. This, to me is more ignorant than the 13% Americans in particular want to blame for all of their problems. If not all westerners are identity-less, then it is those who have abandoned it entirely whose Identities are in tact.

I’ve been thinking about AI and the push for robotics as well, seems like the perfect solution for the billionaire overlords who want to future proof their total dominance over the production of their services since it may one day allow them to totally bypass the problems that come with human labor: aka providing a decent living wage, benefits, unionization, and so on. I imagine pitchforks and torches being a consequence though.

I’ve formally studied Islamic aqeedah, its history, the history of others groups and sects, other religions and with your political analysis I believe that a solid understanding of aqeedah and history is fundamental to a solid understanding of political realities today. For example, just knowledge of who we should have our allegiances to as Muslims would drive our political actions despite what the modern information machine would have us believe. Without a deep understanding and a firm grasp onto our aqeedah and history we are lost, or worse, we are made to be lost.

The number of things that will be possible will go up, but the percentage of all known things each person will know will go down. The number of things we each know how to do won’t change significantly, however the probability that any two people will share similar knowledge on a thing will decline. So there will be a lot of things that people are individually ignorant of, but that doesn’t mean no one knows how to do them. AI will merely magnify this gap between the total knowledge of the world and the knowledge of the individual. Dumbing down isn’t the necessary result of that.

The tale of post modernism is one where persons don't know how to do modernisation functionalism, just as early moderns societies had no clue of being a hunter-gather, but did know how to colonise continents where hunter gathers existed for more than 40 thousand years. Something similar is happening here.

Isn't that exactly the same argument for most things? It was the same when civilization began, and humans started living in homes. They became dependent on farming and forgot how to hunt, among other skills. As technology advanced and civilization grew more complex, we abandoned old skills and learned new ones that became the norm. Thus, you become dependent on the innovations that civilization introduces. You either adapt or fall behind. Sometimes, certain advancements fail and eventually disappear.

If we had a loyal, true, compassionate, selfless government, THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE, this would never have gotten off the ground. And the fact that our upcoming president is a billionaire who's ONLY CONCERN is making "A HELL OF A LOT OF MONEY" means the near future is showing no signs of wanting to even slow it down. It's so hard as someone who "WOKE UP" long ago to watch society bury their head in the sand in fear of rocking the boat by even questioning ANYTHING. It's literally like watching your friends and family standing in line to jump off a cliff and hoping someone will catch them 2000 feet below but you know how it really will end. And until they turn off their television or radio or any device you know you will NEVER get through to them. It takes courage to wake up and admit that you have been conditioned, manipulated, or simply BRAINWASHED into being a "sheeple" over the course of your entire life and unfortunately almost all westerners fall into that category. It's "Stockholm syndrome" on steroids in the sense that people know they are being led by greedy, murdering tyrants yet feel too scared to stand up or leave or even speak out against them so they just spend their whole lives in obedience to them, thinking that it's normal human behavior. SO SAD

I am 42 years old and haven't owned a television since October 2023. Maybe once or twice a week I will watch a movie using AR Glasses and that's it. My time is spent studying, learning new things, working on my business and trying to be a decent human. I am not into religion but like following Torah and the Gospel as instructed in Surah 3.48 وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ ٤٨ And Allah will teach him writing and wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel.

This verse refers to the prophecy regarding Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him). Allah declares that Isa will be granted knowledge of the divine scriptures, wisdom, and specific revelations of the Torah and the Gospel. It highlights Isa’s role as a prophet, guided by divine knowledge and wisdom. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came after Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) after approximately 600 years. Prophet Muhammad served as the final messenger of Allah, conveying the ultimate guidance for humanity. Surah Al-Ahzab number: 33:21: "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah, you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often."

I call these times we live in; "Information Overload Era", with the vast majority of the info most are consuming to be absolute garbage. There's a saying; "you are what you eat", Information of all sorts; communication in person, social media, watching movies, etc. whatsoever one gives attention to is food to the brain, on both a conscious & subconscious level. And like consuming junk food, food stripped of all nutritional value & filled with chemicals & excessive sugars eventually leads to poor health & early death like wise excessive consumption of Information that doesn't help the mind to think properly.

I don’t know of a single great influential figure who cultivated their uniquity by being like their family members. His point is better founded upon meeting and talking to members of the wider community. Normatively, influence is worst from corporate mass media because it makes you a pawn. It is second best from family, they’re real people but the pool is too small. After all, you were formed not as a copy but as a combination between contrasts. The best influence is talking to strangers. This is the virtue of the rules of “polite society.” Live wherever you can talk deeply and enthusiastically with the strangers around. There are thousands of places. Some that stand out to me in the states: Portland, Austin, and North Dakota.
