Your well articulated points here are symptomatic of a larger problem in Western culture, which is the supremacy of jumping from one base impulse to the next. I am not a Muslim, however, your talk here reflects something I've always scratched my head at with regard to the Western approach to relationships. I've never understood why people seemingly end long term relationships on the basis of trivial criteria. It really shouldn't be a surprise that we're turning out so many confused and anxious children in Western societies. With no emotional base within the home, and certainly no atomic family as the standard to aspire to, children grow up with a discombobulated sense of the world and an insecure attachment style to others. It's a sickness that's going to take decades to reverse if we ever decide to actually address the problem.
