I used to work on the Players Lounge door for a couple of years, nothing exciting but basically in the west stand upper to stop the press bugging the players :-) ....( and yes I could tell you some stories..lol) Ricard was one of those who would pop out once everyone had gone, have a wee chat in his very broken english & basically chill out. Massive teeth but a genuinely lovely, down to earth bloke. Really did have a lot of time for him & his weird sense of humour.

@@mitchsullo ...Who do you want to know about? I was on there for a few seasons at the back end of the 90's. Merson, Gazza, Ricard, Cooper, Flemming, Viv Anderson, Brian Robson, Schwarzer, Slaven, Ali Brownlee?? to name but a few....ect ect......Also had to deal with a few press reporters & referees but most were absolutely brilliant, however, certain visiting top x-players, certain current players of that time were complete bellends & looked down their noses at us. My time spent on the door was mainly , when our home games kicked off, with friends & families of those on & off the pitch.

Brilliant on his day. You could tell within the first 5 minutes of a game what sort of performance he would have by his body language.

Amazing how many supporters had no time from him back in the day but for me he was a classic front man with an eye for goal or a laser pass, not every time granted but regular enough and when you look at current players struggling (Adams, Long, Linton, Benteke, Mgoldrick) then HR,s goals speak for themselves.

Shows how spoiled we were in them days that Ricard was never really far away from being a boo boys target. Worth watching this for that nutmeg on Petit alone! Thanks for the memories big Ham

I’m 40 and remember back in his time was rare to see a Colombian in the premiere league. You guys should look out for Ricard 2.0 in Colombia

On his Day he was unplayable. His only problem was consistency. He would be brilliant for 3-4 games then not show up for 5-6 games then brilliant 5 games and back and forth. On his day though he was a brilliant striker #UTB

Inconsistent player, when he was good he was unplayable though

He was fucking terrible lol it was a shame because there was the odd game where you could see there was a fucker of a player in there trying to break out but for the most part his nickname (obvious play on the surname) was more than deserved
