The outside air temp directly effects the condenser side head pressure and the wattage needed for the refrigerant to condense. Here in AZ when the temp often reaches 105 degrees the condenser pressure would be around 530 PSI where at 80 degrees you are looking at about only 370 PSI. That which would make a big difference in wattage at full capacity. Another variable is, with only 60 degree room temp, the unit would need to limit it's capacity to avoid icing of the inside evaporator coil. I would imagine the unit is designed for peak operation at around 100 degree outside air and 72 degrees inside air temps and 50% humidity. That being said, Variable Capacity with it's added benefit of soft starting, which in the past was only available with commercial AC, are a tremendous improvement over traditional residential designs.

I had a Friedrich CP06G10B 6,000BTU and while it was nice and quiet (it had a sheet-steel divider between the two halfs) it did EXACTLY what you mentioned, which was make the humidity go up when i was running it. I thought i was going crazy but i guess from your comment that is actually a thing. I sold it to a friend so im looking to get a different one. I think im going LG next with your comment on how good of an experience you had with them. Although funny enough, some of Friedrich's window AC's are actually re-branded LG models. Also fyi, LG is coming out with a 8,000 BTU Dual-Inverter. Model "LW8021IVSM", apparently coming out sometime in January 2022. Probably going to go with that one myself if they come in stock.

Now I finally have an LG to compare with the Midea 8000btu inverter! I just have to find out which will remove moisture better a 6000btu single speed or an 8000btu inverter. At least the inverter model will have wifi controls. I just wish they would make 6000 btu inverters for small rooms.

They did tell me that they support that model, but couldn't tell me if they will be making and shipping out more units or not and couldn't tell me when it will be in stores and on their website. It still isn't on home depot website or lowes website. I hope this changes soon! For now I just ended up ordering a 20 pint dehumidifier for my bedroom since the Friedrich window AC has been making me sick from high humidity, but I like that you can put automatic timers with different temperatures on the app making it like a programmable thermostat on a window AC!

Leaving the fan speed on high will cause high humidity and mold unless you live out west where it's super dry. I'd leave it on auto fan speed to keep the air drier and avoid mold. Auto speed will also allow it use 2 speeds lower than low. When the fan speed goes lower it also lowers the btu so that it runs longer which saves electricity because every time the compressor turns back on it uses tons of start up electricity. Keeping the fan on high defeats the whole purpose of an inverter air conditioner.

Make no mistake, you need the swing in temperature in the thermostat if you didn’t have that it takes mere seconds almost in certain situations for the temperature to rise one degree meaning that the unit will be kicking on and off to much short cycling the compressor causing premature wear and failure. This is programmed into central units the same way.
@koreymayo8884 Жыл бұрын
Not true. Central units don't have a 5 degree temperature swing. My american standard central unit with a robertshaw swings 0.6 degrees and typically turns on/off every 10 to 20 minutes.
