I seriously thought this was a GT7 update, my forehead got warm for a second. Please make this a series. My journey with this track started in GT3.

Love how you start this new series with one of my favorite tracks in the Gran Turismo franchise! Whenever I start to play GT4, Mid-Field Raceway is my 1st pick!

My favourite track of all time. Has my favourite race in my favourite game. GT All Stars Professional 15 Laps of Midfield Raceway in the Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca. Always a challenge in Gran Turismo 3

As someone who hasn't played all the Gran Turismo games (started with 5), this is the sort of series I love to see.

I love this idea for a series! Hope you do more! For me, Midfield was a HUGE part of my childhood thanks to GT3, Arcade Mode having both forward and reverse unlocked from the start. And I loved in GT3 especially how reverse was overcast, if felt more...ominous and eerie. I'd say Midfield is probably my favourite original circuit in the series. It maybe short, but its packed with character!

I’d love to see more of these circuit spotlight videos, it’s a fun way to learn more about various tracks. (This will especially help me understand the love of certain Gran Turismo tracks since gt7 is the 1st game of the series I’ve gotten)

Great track and was a lot of fun to drive. I started playing Gran Turismo from the beginning and GT2 was such a massive upgrade over the first game. My favorite part of midfield was the high speed esses after turn 1.

Hope this series does well, would be interesting to see your opinion on other tracks. Maybe this is just the nostalgia talking, but I preferred the pre-GT6 version of Midfield. It just looks better pixelated. I agree with the favourite corner, emerging out of the forest with that camber onto the main straight is definitely cool

I like this track so much due to it's long straight and high speed layout of it and 2nd my favorite next to High Speed Ring.

If it comes to GT7 as i hope it does, i think after getting FIA-ed as Trial Mountain and Deep Forest did, it probably wouldn't change much, and may actually improve to make it not as short of a lap

A Track I always loved is Grand valley Speedway all versions but a Course I would love to see comeback because of the Challenge is Special Stage Route 11 that had so many tight turns and hairpins plus you drive it at night a turn that was notorious was just at the end a tight S bend followed by a quick straight before a tight final corner

Hi Mike! The most vivid memory I have of Midfield Raceway is that it's the first track you do in Formula GT in GT3. Just as you say, it's a high flow course and it's easy to recover ground if you mess up almost anywhere. I guess you'll do SSR11, right? It's my favorite track in both GT1 and GT3. As for other non GT tracks, I think Fujimi Kaido should get its own spotlight, being so iconic and a staple of Forza. Have a good one!

I am far more of a race circuit lover than a car lover in racing games, so I really hope this series becomes successful especially with GT originals. Now, Midfield Raceway. My first memories of really getting to know this track is GT3, since both layouts were available at the start of Arcade Mode. It was very memorable with the 2 left-right corners, one after the large right turn with sand pits, and the other right before the hairpin. That latter one is one of the most unique sections out of any GT track, and it's no wonder it's been used frequently in license tests in the early days. Tunnels are also a great addition, and hearing other car sounds when passing the figure 8 section will never not be satisfying. It also helps in GT3, lots of tracks would have different time of days and condition depending on the variations, in Midfield's case having the reverse variant take place in a cloudy day. Since then it's been a consistently fun figure 8 circuit in most of the games they appear in, albeit not enough for me to prefer it over any GT1 tracks barring Test Course. In total, Midfield has been used in single player events 37 times (take it with a grain of salt) in the Gran Turismo series. Not including Tourist Trophy, which sadly is the only time I straight up don't like Midfield, and it's entirely because of the final section which I swear, you cannot go through full throttle without crashing, and one of the license tests takes place on that section. Aside from that, I love Midfield. It's a consistently comfortable track to race on no matter the car type. I'll also rank each itteration as well just to add more content. Last place is Tourist Trophy as I said, screw turn 10. Then GT6 just because it's never used in career mode. GT2 is next because I find it a visual bore compared to the GT1 circuits, even if it's fun to race on. GT4 is good But GT3 is my favourite. Outside of Super Speedway it's the shortest track in the game making it a relief when it shows up. If you know you know.

This track reminds me a lot of Watkins Glen to drive. It’s very fast, flowing and a hoot to drive in anything with over 300 horsepower.

This and Apricot HILL are the two circuits id like to have in GT7 the most, even above other classics such as the routes (5 or 7) or Autumn Ring

My Midfield journey started on GT4. As a kid I loved it, simply because it was a figure 8 layout and it had the tunnel before the last two bends (I was fascinated by bridges and tunnels back then and still am in a way). Nowadays, for me it's a circuit of two halves. I don't like the section from T1 to T4. It seems somewhat lazy to me and I never was really good at those two complexes. For me, Midfield comes alive once you reach T5. To this day I love the flow and the elevation of the cornes and how it depends on the flow and car placement.

If this were to be added to GT7, it'll likely fall into the same trap as Grand Valley and probably wind up being relocated. Best case scenario, it'll literally be in the middle of a f***ing farmland, but that's the 'BEST CASE'. Also, I don't mind having this being a series because there are a few tracks that are dying for some light to be shed on them (St Croix definitely)

Love to see this back but sadly wasn't my favourite though it be good to see all the original functional tracks back but doubt polyphony will do all that especially on GT7

Great idea. I am up for more of the good stuff. Midfield is my Top 5 Gran Turismo track. Quick question: How will you handle the reverse tracks?

Doubt I’ll cover those unless there’s some notable difference, then include in the main episodes

I like the track, but in particular I don't like the "Ridge Racer style" tunnels of the original Gran Turismo tracks. They always make those track seem like fake compared to real circuits. Same with Grand Valley Speedway: it could be a perfect race track, but 3 tunnels make it pretty video game-ish...😅
@JOHANNESwhoelseКүн бұрын
Concerning its short length, I could see Polyphony address that by adding a new section onto where the hairpin is. Maybe four or five more corners before the new part joins onto the old track again. Or they could fumble it again completely. Don't you forget that Kaz is an innovation addict. He ignores what worked in the past and introduces pointless stuff just because he thinks he's such a maestro. I wouldn't trust him.
