I believe that Midge Ure, and possibly Tony Hadley had the most beautiful voices in New Wave. Certain Smile I adore. Oh how I miss the 80’s. Spoken like a true 66 year old.😔

One of 80's great band. They created some of the most memorable songs. Sad that they tried so hard to create their band image to compete with Depeche Mode, OMD and AFOS to name a few but failed. Anyway, Ultravox and Midge Ure are so underrated.

Promises as chorus lines are beautifully crafted into this song. A smile is usually associated with someone making you feel a feeling of joy. The fact that it's a certian smile must mean it makes a world of difference to that one person. Love is a beautiful thing that is something to cherish deeply and dearly.

Who are the others in that band? I saw him live in 1985 on The Gift tour and they are the same musicians I believe. I see Kevin Powell on bass, one of the guys from The Messengers on keyboards and the drummer who briefly replaced Warren Carn (name?). The others..?
