I prefer stable diffusion because I can run it locally. I like being able to download different models that have different strengths, text embeddings, vae, etc, and mix and match them in different ways. Also prefer the workflow for stable diffusion. I generally have it produce 24-48 images at a lower resolution (512 x 512, 512 x 768, etc., which takes 1-2 minutes), curate the ones I like, and re-run the seeds in a XY plot with upscaling turned on, or send the images to img2img or extras to rescale. Can also integrate with several image applications (e.g. Krita and Photoshop) with plugins. Only real issue is keeping up with the models; so many get released these days its difficult to find time to try them all.

Discord is the unpleasant weight dragging Midjourney down, they restrict themselves to that niche. (NOT everyone likes Discord!!!) Stable diffusion's local installability is the advantage.

I prefer Automatic1111/Stable Diffusion. I've dabbled with Midjourney and it's great but A1111 suits my workflow and I have a set of models and embeddings etc that give me exactly what I want for right now.

Agreed, once installed and setup, SD is very powerful. There's a higher ceiling with SD, but also a higher learning curve. They both work great in tandem 🌟

If they unlinked Midjourney with Discord, that would make a huge difference to me. I hate the Discord UI/UX. That is what stops me from using Midjourney. I like locally installable things like A1111/stable diffusion. Doesn't Midjourney want to charge money too?

BIG FANX for guiding us through these perplexing times! Yes: MJ generates the fastest "wow"! But I decided to concentrate on the free, open source, uncensored, local Stable Diffusion. I love this open concept! SD develops faster than I can learn and try... If you want to realize a complex vision in a sophisticated concept, you will have a long workflow with´any AI. Yes: Fast and amazing results of "A cat in golden armor" are just one click away in MJ. So MJ is a magic tool for everyone but I think that this can not be satisfying for very creative artists. BTW: In my opinion, all these AIs that are based on the pictures, music, writings and knowledge of the world, should be free for all. Happy colored greetinx

This update broke my heart. i no longer see the need to pay such a pricy subscription since they killed it. me so sad. It's blurry, there's less details. But I did like the aspect ration, but nomore prompt weights6 seriously?

sorry but the 4c version is an absolute mess. Skin textures are like dolls, nothing like in 4b. Images are all blurry and not sharp at all. Eyes are much worse than in 4b. There is less detail in 4c images than there was in 4b. I just wanted to start a subscription but this update ruins it for me. The --style 4b doesnt work properly, you don't get the same images as before. Upscaling doesn't work as well. And the image generation takes 4-5x more fast GPU-time than before without any reason! Before this is fixed, I'm out.

A LOT. Midjourney models in Stable diffusion are merely mimicking a style of images that it has been trained on. So having a Midjourney "model" in Stable diffusion only makes sense if you're trying to achieve the particular style that model has been trained on. Both Midjourney and Stable diffusion are capable of much much more than what's available in that particular .ckpt.

As I've understood it, it's basically free open source stable diffusion wrapped into a paid service. Stable diffusion can do everything MJ 4C can (and more).
