Wow, this is the best MidJourney tutorial video I’ve seen so far! Could you make a video on how to use MidJourney for generating various concept designs during the basic architectural planning stage? For example, it would be great if you could show how to narrow down design concepts that fit the size of the project site, or how to generate concept designs by referencing the size of a SketchUp mass model you’ve already created. I’ve been struggling to get a good grasp of how to effectively use MidJourney, but this video has been incredibly helpful. Thank you so much!

My pleasure! It's definitely hard to grasp at first and can also be overwhelming. But I've found that structuring a prompt into these 3 main parts and taking it from there is easier to understand

I'm tryng to understand the use case for this. If you're trying to design something architectural, don't your want to the AI system to draw exactly what you have in mind? Maybe I missed something but thiis seems like it's just creating imagined designs of it's own, which you would work off to create something real?

Would it be possible to imagine giving a prompt with a raw 3D model image of a project and have it generate a 3D renderingof the project as a software like twinmotion would ? If so what should the prompt be like ? I imagine it would be so powerful to be able to use so much power to fully generate images for a final project. Thank you for this very helpful video !

I have been wondering if it is possible to use that technique on a conceptual model to create fast intial visual renders for clients, what i mean is if in sketchup we make a mass model then use this method to come up with several design proposals and not just creating a ramdomized design, buth having it specific for our own. ..... thank you again..... best AI tutorial i have seen, with given prompt examples to see the results, thank you so much.

GUYS! i summed up the prompt part of the video if you want to use on chatgpt to help! 1.I'm going to teach you how to write a prompt for Midjourney, an AI art generator, so you can help me in future projects. Do you understand? 2.Usually, the structure is ( medium + subject + environment). I mean by "medium" visual, style, technique, format, for example: a render, watercolor, sculpture, photography, portrait, xray, illustration...etc, plus it would make the prompt stronger to add a photography style example" shot in a Nikon D700 camera, large format camera, aerial view, drone shot...etc. "Subject" is general building design, style, materials, features...etc. "Environment" is time of day, urban, rural, seasons, weather...etc. This is a basic example :"exterior photograph of a university building in a serene suburban setting in France shot on a large format camera the building features a unique architectural style with a recessed ground floor and cantilevered Glass upper floors creating a floating effect the roof of the building serves as a multi-sport court enclosed by a tall metal fence the building structure is entirely of exposed concrete with each floor slab exposing concrete beams beneath it there are a group of students and entering the building and a white and blue uniform the scene captures a tranquil and airy atmosphere enhance by Soft daylight soft Shadows and a natural color palette" Did you understand? hope this helps😊

Thanks, consistency for real architectures (Like our company) is make different angles of scenes as same environment, objects, elements materials etc. So we need to make consistent AI generation eg. an interior different render shot of same scene, how to achieve that? ALso in 99% of times not based on prompt, based on geometry or sketch. So this is not The actual practical, If possible make a tutorial for this purpose.

We need to understand how to render or enrich our cad models using AI but without changing the design we already have which is based on actual sites and programas. Don't make the architecture just make the visualization. And also keep a consistent result if we need to redo it with other views or later iteration. We don't want it to looks different everytime.
@ShowItBetter8 ай бұрын
thanks for the feedback! There are specific AI tools right now that do that, which I hope to make a video on in the future for sure! But Midjourney is much more for the initial stages of concept design and overall project mood. Which is also very useful in architecture.

Can you drop something that you’ve actually designed into this thing? It seems to be an Ai design technique you’re advocating - which is far too results focused. Design is a process. It seems you’re simply jumping straight to the whizz bang pretty finish line. As an architect you draw to understand, you can’t hand that task over to Ai…unless your intention is to create empty, thoughtless and derivative architecture!
@ShowItBetter7 ай бұрын
Hey Gareth If you want to check out how to drop something you've designed into MJ, you can check out a video I did with the guys at MVRDV, they explain the process. On another note, I agree, design is a process and this is a new way you can sketch and brainstorm ideas. It's not necessarily the best way or the way you have to do it, it's one of the ways you can use AI to brainstorm. The process I intend to show is not meant for you to place your prompt, get an image and call it a day. It's a process of understanding the language behind your design, how to deconstruct it and dissect it, so you can create many iterations of it. Understanding words and language is part of the design process and MJ can help you visualize that. The process I show is for you to place your prompt, iterate, try again, get ideas, design, etc.
@GarethThomasTunes7 ай бұрын
@@ShowItBetter hey thanks for the quick reply. Yes, MJ could be used as an initial brainstorming device - to search for aesthetics - but that’s about it. Alongside architecture, I’m also in the music industry, always finding parallels between both fields. In music we call this race to the finish line ‘premature sheen’. Today’s music making tech enables you to sound professional and pro without knowing anything about music and recording. Seductive tech is destroying the craft of songwriting, but I don’t think tech will destroy the craft of architecture…hope I’m not being overly optimistic there!
