Your making it look easy . One of my bearings broke in half and I was wondering the best way to get the old race off , luckily for me yours did the same thing and I’ve got a big chisel so going to do the same thing you did. Great video & lots of help. Thanks

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports after reading my comment I realized I should have had my coffee first LOL in any case I've been a Millwright for 23 years and a little heat goes a long way in getting things apart, I'm going to post a video removing the front wheel bearing on a 570 crew take a peek.

Gee Mister, how did you get to be so smart? A millwright for 23 years! I especially liked the part when you said something unkind when you could have chosen to say say nothing. Impressive!

also... just a thought! A 10 ton hydraulic press can be had for under $200 and they are super useful for pressing bearings in and out... I got a great one from Princess Auto here in Canukistan...it's the Canadian version of Hobo Freight...

When installing bearings and you find yourself in between sizes on your drive tool, grind down the O.D. of your old bearing and use it as the main driver and the drive tool itself as the secondary pushing on the old bearing. Also throw a little heat into that knuckle as well as freezing the bearing.

Great idea on grinding the outer bearing im using that one.😮

Do the bearings have to be packed?

New to the ranger scene. Have some play in front drivers side. How do I know if it’s just the bearing or if I need a new hub also. Thanks

I have this same unit and the back tires are plowing and tearing up the grass do you have any idea what the cause could be
@jimmymartin19022 жыл бұрын
lol. that would be called tire gripping. The only thing you can do is put a less aggressive more street friendly tires on.

did you say steel toed shoes?... those sure look like sandals to me :)

Theres this black face plate thing blocking the way from getting a socket into there. And the "Allen's" are made out of tin and can be stripped with a fingernail TL;DR instructions unclear, literally can't get wheel off.

I get being comfortable at home, but if that hub slips out of the vise and falls and hits your toe with those flip flops on,it’s going to ruin your day.

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports you could break, stretch or break the line. Now you need a new line and bleed the brakes.👍

Yea, I get what you are saying. Car calipers you definitely want to be careful. Of the several thousand of these that I have worked on, torn down, or rebuild. Never 1 time have I seen a hose leak/crack in that area. Could happen though. You are right. Thanks for the dialogue.

wearing flip flops to work on heavy parts- a recipe for disaster. Or at least a broken toe or foot.
