I'm glad I'm nearly 60. Can't be dealing with town these days. Full of people looking for trouble, knifed up or coked up. Just go my local, where I know everyone these days, or sit in with a few cans and a Chinese. Many good years in the old clubs in town. 80's and 90's, but all different now. Take it easy Billy

Hi Billy, thanks for walking roound in the cold and wet to show us this. Im 47 this year and I used to lovvve a night out in town, my ex run a very busy bar on Victoria St and I would be there most saturday nights with him talking to all the regulars, was a great laugh great banter and such a good time, very rare was there any trouble but again that was during the late 2000's much different now. Seeing that bleed kit on the wall just pretty much sums it up doesnt it. Im a Wirral squirral but Ive worked in town most of my life, its so so sad to see its decline. On the one hand the city centre now has many posh hotels, expensive shops have all moved in with great choice of worldwide foods etc, but sadly all those attractions doesnt mask or take away the violence thats happening on a daily basis and us regular people are just too scared to visit anymore unless its during the day. Also Liverpool council allowing its citizens to rough sleep in such large numbers it really is a sign of the times. Thanks for the video Billy x

You know, I find it heartbreaking to see homeless people living in tents... But at the same time, it makes me so greatful that I've got a roof over my head and I've got food on the table. Makes me realize how blessed I am.

Blessed? Having a home should be a minimum expectation for ordinary Liverpol people, not something to feel guilty about. Sadly, because the country is broken by mass immigration, homelessness will be with us for the foreseeable future.

I’m in my early 40s now and I wouldn’t go back to that lifestyle if you paid me. Way too long in the tooth for it now and the hangovers are a killer. Much better to have a fresh head on a Sunday and get out for a walk or run in the fresh air and countryside. And first and foremost, kids to look after.

Town seems to have become a seedy, scruffy place day and night. Now that we've imported third world and Romanian "culture" on a grand scale, Liverpool is slowly but surely coming to resemble those places. The taxi trade in Liverpool has been hijacked almost completely by foreigners. Politicians tell us it's a good thing. As for the nightlife, coked-up teenagers and 20-somethings who obviously enjoy music so loud that early-onset deafness is virtually guaranteed. Weird.

"Not for me no more" - Exactly my feelings. I remember a lot of nights in The Swan and The Krazy House (looks like it's Electrik Warehouse now). I've been back to Liverpool a few times recently and it still feels so familiar, yet different. Really when the need the police presence is when all the clubs kick out and everyone is hammered, that's when the fights mostly happen. I still love going back to Liverpool, but I certainly don't miss navigating Concert Square and the likes while three sheets to the wind, haha.

Hi Billy, Thanks for your vid mate. This was a very powerful video Billy!. It really summed up the social divide in today's society. I'm not going to criticise the young students for going out with their friends and enjoying themselves. Most of them are not from Merseyside and they're enjoying themselves with their fellow students. They're young and what they're doing is normal mate. What I found that truly reflects today's society that saddens me is the amount of Police 🚓 that were there. They were there to act as a deterrent to anyone who wanted to cause trouble. That's evidence of the state of society today Billy. Also you mentioned young Ava White, the young 12 year old child who lost her life to Knife crime. Also Billy the amount of people that were sleeping rough in the wet tents. A 17 year old girl -a child was one of them! -truly shocking!. And finally you were approached and asked if you wanted jet, Drugs!. All this in one 9 minute video clip sums up today's society in a nutshell Billy. Very very sad Billy. Anyway thanks for this powerful video Billy. John. 🤔RIP Ava White. 😭

Not sure things have changed all that much to be honest lad. I remember around 2009/2010 when there were bizzies stationed on every corner of chimney square or a Saturday night and then there was the famous conga line of coppers opposite the Grafton at chucking out time. The problems that the relaxation of licensing hours was supposed to solve seem to have just been exacerbated. Then again, it's not my life anymore. Perhaps we all have short memories.

This isn’t just the pool Billy lad , Preston is exactly the same . Sadly all our cities are now in decline, my personal thoughts is it’s all engineered for a reason. It seems things are getting worst by the week.

About the police “when they are here there’s no trouble but when they leave there is murder. Here when you don’t need them but not when you do need them”. Ridiculous comment, you answer your own question.
