But the absolute, most insulting thing of all... Is all the notices stuck to everything. The council put them there as a notice of illegal activity, but the reality is is that they are nothing except an admission from the local authorities of how fkn useless they are... I mean, really? Notices stuck to black bags?? "Oh dear, how ever will I remove them?? Oh wait, I made sure there was nothing in the bags with my name or address on before I dumped them there. LOL." The sad thing is, this will all get worse before it gets better. If nothing is done to shake up this country in the next few months, it will be twice as bad by the end of this year. I have a story to tell about this place. I was working security and got asked to cover an old Littlewoods factory. I had never been before and I couldn't find the gate and I stopped to call the place for directions. As I was parked a woman appeared and asked if I was there for business. I politely declined but she did give me directions to the gate near Sweet Street 😅. After a while I went to a Kwick Save for dinner only to see a group of Asian gentlemen fighting with a group of Afro Carabian gentlemen. I never did go back.

It’s on its arse is Scunny but I love the place and miss it, there’s a humility there that’s hard to really explain to anyone from the outside. I always feel melancholic going back cos it doesn’t really change, I had some of the best times of my life there and the memories still make me smile.

its a pity you didnt visit when the whole area on the grass by the park on halton brook had activities paid for by the council. i was there with my grandsons and they had a great day with games, bouncy castles, go carts etc.... not everything is a desolate landscape just because kids hang around a park creating havoc because the are " Bored and have nothing to do" you need to visit in summer nights when kids hang around that area and terrorise the shop owners. every town has areas others find rough, iv lived this side of runcorn for 24 years and yes its not brilliant, but its far froma ghetto
