Ha, I heard him whisper "dammit" in one of them, so he does have another favorite word other than "asswipe"! It's insane how much they gave this character so much, character, through these voices alone. This was really interesting to listen to considering I haven't heard some of them (or perhaps too focused trying to beat the race) especially the ones regarding the police, but with his car and the way he and bis crew drives I think he would barely ever get time to play with the fuzz to begin with. These files may also give a rather contrasting insight of how he is as world champion compared to the player in the sense of being someone who has reached the top but grew tired over time over holding the position, compared to the player's ambition of WANTING to be the world champ to begin with. So at least with the way how Savo makes it sound, it seems more like a curse than an achievement, because once you reach the end of it all is anything really a challenge anymore? You only have the next person to legitimately look forward to to make this change of outlook in the same way the player doesn't expect nor know what kind of driver they would be up against in their next race, hell Riddick- Dice gave me a run for quite a bit before finally making it to Paris. It's quite similar to speedrunners too, there is always a time where someone at the top feels like there's nothing to achieve anymore until a new player shows up to the challenge. And while Savo does come off as a generally antagonistic person, he still looked forward to actually being bested in his own expertise, but I'll say his retirement was long overdue seeing how much it has soured or made him bitter as a person it looks like. Also is it just me or does he also seem like a character that would have come from the yakuza series, I know for sure Ken'Ichi was definitely mentioned to be one, no less also driving my personally favorite car.

This is a very detailed insight, I love it. The fanbase likes to believe that Savo is the player from the previous instalment, MC Street Racing, which is why he grew tired of being at the top for so long and is sour. He definitely didn't like being beaten, but seems relieved. He did need to retire haha. Yes, all the dynamics and characteristics Rockstar put into this character is awesome, something you don't get much nowadays. Kenichi's AB Flug Supra is good, one of the best handling vehicles in the game too

So, he states several times that he served during a war. He even mentions german U-Boats. But he couldn't have served during WW2, he isn't that old. What war was he involved in, then?

It could possibly be a nod to MC Street Racing. Some people like to believe that Savo is the player from the first game

Kinda weird that Savo has a totally different voice actor in the races, sounds like the same guy who voices Farid.

Playing back through the video, I can see what you mean! I'm not sure if Farid and Savo was voiced by the same person (I don't think so), but I do know that the voice actor of Savo also did Bulgarin from GTA IV

Any cut dialogue? It’s hard for me to identify which ones are unused. I can’t watch the whole video

Cut / unused dialogue includes the audio clips where the cops are mentioned, e.g. chase initiated, arrested, police helicopters etc. There ended up being no cops in any of his races so this went unused
