It kind of felt like the script and story were the weakest parts of it. Direction, cinematography, set design, locations and most of all performances were all very strong. Riley's talks about what happens after death and erin's last monologue both felt like a joe rogan fever dream though, and brought down the whole theme's importance and impact, with characters defined by performance rather than arc or writing, and a story that fizzled harder than a shaken doctor pepper.

Respectfully, I'm not usually the type of person to seek out ASMR. It was personally never my thing. But I am into Midnight Mass. So seeing this being combined with one of those 'whisper and tapping' videos, I had to click out of sheer curiosity as to how odd the idea was. And it seems like Paul wasn't the only one humbled today. Let me gush about the writing and performance: Father Paul reflecting on his time in Crockett Island combined with such stellar voice work is an amazing love letter to the mini series. I can totally imagine this as some sort of 'what if' epilogue a few years down the line. And if anything, provided some much needed catharsis after the heavy ending of the series. Anyways, brilliant work. You've converted a non-ASMR fan.
