Midnight rant & skincare routine

Sometimes I cannot fall asleep because so many thoughts are filtering through my mind. On one of such nights, I climbed out of bed and filmed this

When I think of prayer in light of my Pentecostal upbringing I often think of warfare, resisting the forces of darkness and the power of the evil one, pulling down strongholds and taking over kingdoms. While these endeavors are in no wise less important, since I became a Christian and a true believer I have discovered an importance of prayer that is not new to the world but was certainly quite new to me. This reason for prayer enabled me to see the psalms in a new light and truly delve into the beautiful delights of being a true Christian. This form of prayer is praying to unearth one’s mind, it is praying to tell God about your day, it is a prayer of vulnerability, it is mere communication that takes the form of speaking to a friend about one’s day, and it is fellowship. I fear that a lot of our prayer life and how we communicate with God is taught us by the church and if that is the case and is often times seen, the lot of us carry on performance based prayers and communication with God while in our congregations in churches but this also carries on to our personal quiet time in the quietness of our rooms even when nobody is watching us. In our churches we are often obligated to be performance based Christians in other to appear to have a form of spirituality that often times does not depict the true state of our heart (trust me , I know, I have been there). The problem with this kind of predisposition is that we often times lose out on enjoying the sheer bliss of true communication and fellowship with God because we are too busy playing the part of the overly spiritual Christian. While our spirituality is in no wise a bad thing, it becomes a plague when like the Pharisees we find ourselves feeling the need to “play the part” of good worshipper, when we are in truth struggling in our relationship with God. This is in particular a serious struggle if one is holding a fundamental position in the church (PS: please pray for our church leaders) When was the last time you actually came to your quiet time with the aim to just speak to God about your day? Just tell him of your struggles, your ups and downs, your highs and your low points, your fears about the future and areas you are simply grateful for? Do you have a routine prayer life or a true fellowship with God? Do you carry the presence of God out of your quiet time into the rest of your day and live the rest of your day with the awareness of God’s presence? If you do not know how to go about this, remember that the bible says “...for we know not what we should pray as we ought: but the spirit itself maketh intercessions for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the heart knoweth what is the mind of the spirit, because he maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26-27). Seek the spirit’s direction today so that you can more easily enjoy what it is to have true fellowship with God. I have found this to be the most blissful form of prayer. When I come before God and pour out my heart to Him I can more easily receive of all that He wants to reveal to me in scriptures and in His presence. Glory is to His name. Amen.

I can relate to this 100. I have entered my promise land and I don’t have “problems” to pray for… Sometimes I feel bad and sad because I miss Him. I don’t need anything, I just want Him. And it feels like I can’t figure it out. That intimacy again, that sweet fellowship….. Do I have to have problems to be there?… I really miss the early days of my salvation. I want more too. This video has to be one of my most favourite. It truly touches my heart seeing what God is doing in and with young people. I believe i am in a very similar season to yours. I also used to be one to come into prayer just to list things i needed from God but off-late i am desiring to just behold God to know him and to be with him in fellowship. And im finding in beholding him, he satisfies, he purifies, brings clarity, peace, joy etc. He brings so willingly the things we normally forsake the Lord to chase after. It comes anyway as a package of beholding him and being with him. There is a beauty that is found in being with the Lord.

There are two sides to this for me, btw, God bless you Ezinne Zara. I feel like at times we are actually in sync with God that the devil makes us feel like we are not still forcing or we are still not good and we end up doing things that are not scriptural. There can also be the point of growth as you said where what we seek is foolishness to the world and sounds quite abstract. But we shouldn't back out, just follow God through. So in all things, we need to seek God and pat our back for the advances we have made in our walk with God. Amen. This is a lil I want to share as well. Amen

Ezinne!! Loved this! It's so funny cause I went through this exact same phase at some point in my life. It's 6 years this year that I gave my life to Christ. In the 3rd year, there was such a hunger and a thirst.. I couldn't describe or explain it. I asked everyone I could.. "What do you think I can do to show God just how much I love Him?". The most uncanny thing you said though was "What was it Enoch did for it to have been said he walked with God." God knows I asked that one quite a couple of times as well. I read my Bible about 4 to 5 times, start to finish just to discover what it is you speak about. I'm glad to say.. I've been satisfied and somehow yet still hungry(which is a good thing). And about having a quiet time, I like to rise before the sun but also not carry into prayers the baggage of the night so I wake up by 4-4:30am. Knowing that the heart of God is souls and that He places His Word above His name but also doesn't want His name to be profaned.. I use these three points as anchors for the things I say to Him daily; "Father, let Your Word prevail over the hearts of men. Let it prevail of the nations resistant to it. Let Your name be exalted. Cause men to understand the times and seasons and be prepared. Cause your sheep in other flock to return. Send us labourers for the harvest field. Let those who say the preach Your Word actually preach Your Word. Let not martyrdom nor rapture be words to be forgotten." And I find that He speaks to me more and more and more. He's a never drying river, always ready to dispense!💕

I remember the time I was going through a tough situation that literally halted my life and I had all this free time to pray every single day at random hours for longgg and when the situation was resolved by the Grace of God I remember going to my place of prayer and I was like “what now?” I was even contemplating asking God to give me a tough situation because I loved every minute of the time I spent at random in God’s presence and the Holy Spirit said to me there’s more to intimacy and friendship with Him than when I’m in need, He invited me in to discover this beautiful thing that has changed my life forever and made me a completely different being till this day. I’m so grateful to experience the presence of God and have intimacy and a friendship with Him completely separate from troubles and spiritual warfare. I have no words to describe this beautiful atmosphere of this presence and revelation of Him.
