The book is also ambiguous about Rachel true intentions.

In a better version of the Mummy reboot, having her be the mummy would probably have been an interesting twist.

ive been watching these from the beginning. this is one of your best reviews together. I love it.

If it's like the book, it will be great. And I can't think of anyone better than Rachel Weitz for the role. It's not a cut and dried, goodies vs. baddies story. And if you hate endings that are not clearly resolved, it's not for you.
@Awakeandalive17 жыл бұрын
Yeah, same with "Rebecca"...and "The Birds", actually. Daphne Du Maurier did love her ambiguities!
@Hakajin7 жыл бұрын
I love that "wheelchair suicide" has become a recurring phrase on this channel. And also that you refer to the actual actor that way.

One thing I want to say: at the theater where I work, we had Thursday "preview" screenings for this film starting at 4:00pm!

Boy, you sure have been watching a lot of movies that can be summed up with "Because diamonds" lately, Brad. Glad to hear the two of you liked this one. Thanks for cheering me up. I really needed it today. Best.

Haven't read the book, but I think it ends with a bunch of birds poking out Jessica Tandy's eyes.

"People glancing at tea." Sounds like the perfect movie.
@shortpettite7 жыл бұрын
I'm glad they left it a little ambiguous because from the trailer it looks like they leaned heavily on the tea. I haven't seen the remake but I saw the 1952 one and my thought was a kind of crimson peak-ish thing where she did start out scamming and trying to kill him but actually fell for him and decided not to which is why he didn't die. I gathered this from the lawyer friends letter.

I haven't seen the movie but in the book there were clues showing that their family had a long history of brain tumors.

I really dug this film. A lot of it hinged on Rachel Weisz' performance.

It makes me kinda sad with a book aficionado and a film aficionado doing the review and neither of you knew that this was a remake of a very popular movie starring Richard Burton and Olivia de Havilland based on a book by Daphne du Maurier the same author who wrote Rebecca (later made into a film with de Havilland's sister Joan Fontaine and Lawrence Olivier). It's a bummer all these folks in the comments calling it a poor man's version of a movie that was not made anywhere near before 1952. Sorry, to Actual Lee on you but I felt someone should give some background if the reviewers can't.

I like this type of taped midnight screenings (vs, Live). the audio is a lot better and it gives whoever a chance to say whatever, knowing that the video can be edited.
@StonedGremlinProductions7 жыл бұрын
The videos are very rarely edited. I've only had to do some editing maybe twice this year, and it was to take out a couple of mistakes. Editing stuff out is something that can be done with the Live episodes as well since once it hits the archive I could use the youtube editor.

Counter to the snow argument, even if they don't understand the diff between climate and weather. Next week, Vegas is expected to have four 115 degree F days in a row. Here in GA, the next 5 days all have a heat index of 100F+.

Sam Claflin will never be Sam Claflin, he will always be known as "wheelchair suicide" and that is the funniest on going joke in Late Night Screenings. Also the film Me Before You is also interchangeable with wheelchair suicide which is great. For those asserting some incestuous notions and being turned off, here's a lovely note from Sam's wiki bio upon meeting his wife for the first time; "She's my female counterpart is the best way to describe her. She is my mum. She reminds me of my mum so much which I think - a guy will know, right? It's important. Your mum knows like everything."
