Venti's drunk in a bar somewhere, zhongli's sipping his tea watching liyue go into chaos, raiden became a dictator, and nahida's well......powerless to do anything ig. Furina not only managed to break the hydro knosis and deceive the heavenly principals, but also allow the prophecy to take place yet still save everyone in fontaine

I think it's sad that in game Furina isn't rewarded or given credit by the people of Fontaine. She was just given a place to stay and nothing more and worse is that she is being hated by some people because she deceived them. She single handedly saved a whole nation for 500 years. Not even once did she think for herself. She stayed true to her role to protect Fontaine and its people.

Never once in the Archon Quest or Furina story quest, it is mentioned that her secret has been revealed to the people of Fontaine, so it's might not be so strange how they treated her, even the people of Poisson still resented her for doing nothing to prevent the disaster. I don't know why Neuvilette didn't tell everyone, neither Focalors or Furina told him to keep it a secret anymore, but I guess he has a reason to not share it with the citizens. I really hope Neuvilette disclose this information to the people of Fontaine in a future version, and everyone ask her to become their Archon once more.

Furina is just human. She lived for 500 years convincing everyone around her while also filling the role of a god. She is forced to keep up a facade that everything is alright despite her body being so exhausted that she didn't even noticed herself crying. That is one of the worst fate anyone could go through.

@@ALL_FOR_NOTHING_ and thats a nice detail since when you finish her story quest , she got a hydro vision from neuviletter for her deeds(even though the seat of the hydro archon is destroyed) which in some sense restored some of her divine trait (the twin hair and some of the white outline of her outfit when you change to ousial form in her gameplay) but by no means she isnt an archon anymore she is a vision holder and in jp vision translate to (gods heart) kami wo kokoro , so in a sense she has become one with her divinity, but not in a way we though how it would play ,but she is not an archon anymore cause the hydro archon seat has been destroyed

In a way, furina did EVERYTHING she could as an actor to persuade Fontaine she is an archon, but ultimately fails after the trials and tribulations of enduring the whole and complete truth from “birth”, and the enactment of the prophecy. The comedy being that focalors has found a loophole for the prophecy outside of furinas knowledge is what makes it the “comedy”. That only half of the party is “in on the joke”

God the music swelling while remaining somber when Neuvillete forgives Fontaine’s sins is so good. It’s such an excellent culmination of his character arc - going from admitting to Navia that he thought Callas was guilty because he couldn’t imagine someone prioritizing another’s life more highly than their own to witnessing Focalor sacrifice herself for all her people, unable to do more than trust and rely on him to do so while embodying her own Justice - so very close to what Neuvillete himself espoused what he now believed Justice to be at the end of the second act, but amplified tenfold.

In case you didn't notice. This isn't the first time they used a leitmotif of Fontaine's theme. They did it in the trial court judging Furina and also when Freminet and Lyney are saving the people drowning. I like that, like saying Fontaine's theme doesn't represent the city but all of Fontaine in general, their culture, their people and their god.

What’s amazing to me is that the brief and tragic encounter with focalors was enough to deeply root my love and appreciation for her story. Even though we only met her at the very end, her immensity of her sacrifice was felt. And she did it with so much grace and confidence, which just made it that much more sad.

The only thing that annoys me about Furina is how surprisingly altruistic she can be and how little she loves herself, even in her character conversation she admits to you that she was mentally abusing herself a lot until not long ago and now she tries to go shopping to distract herself with nonsense since, basically, it is therapeutic for her. When the traveler wanted her to tell him the truth she wondered if she had the right to be a little selfish, when they brought her "primordial water" to check if she was an archon, even though it wasn't primordial water, she thought she was and although She knew the effect that water has on mortals, she was willing to sacrifice her life and put her hand in primordial water... Implying that to keep her secret and be able to save Fontaine... She would give her life. When everything was over, Furina packed up her things like a normal human and went to live in a home in very terrible conditions, far from everything and without a drop of credit for what she did. This is explained in texts when you have her as a character. Clorinde decides to visit her and was petrified when she saw the conditions in which she lived. It was from there that Furina got a better home and all expenses were covered by Neuvillete and are still covered by him but what makes me sad is that if it were up to her, she wouldn't mind living in terrible conditions. As a reflection of Furina's psychology, I can say that she has little self-love towards herself.

I'm really happy someone was able to create a remake of this! It was my favorite OST from the entire AQ so I'm glad I can listen to the instrumental in the background while I do my work, so thank you for all your time! I've also seen some comments in regards to how the thumbnail and title may be a spoiler. In that regards, I think "Focalors Farewell" would work just as well if not better than "Focalors Sacrifice" since it sounds a bit more ambiguous and there are already a few cutscene videos titled similarly. As for the thumbnail, maybe a picture of Furina's hat on the ground or Neuvillette crying? Honestly, I don't think there's really any way to title or thumbnail this in a manner that completely avoids any and every spoiler so that really sucks, but I hope you can find a good resolve because I would hate to see you get hate for something like that

This is my favourite ost in genshin, for some time it was the ost from dragonspine, but ever since i heard this in Focalors' final scene this became very special to me. It has everything, wonder, magic, playfulness, mystery, drama, sadness, nostalgia. I'm not sure why, but why are people so confused? Focalors (formerly oceanid turned human by Egeria, former hydro archon) separated her divinity and body. She gave her human body the name Furina. That is why Furina, the game's character, has two modes and two alternate eye designs. Furina Mode: The dark blue, short-haired individual has strong performance abilities and is upbeat and lively. Focalors: The white, long hair, heal skill (ocean) design exudes ethereality. I believe the Focalors who needed to govern Fontaine always had a desire to be human, spend time with her people, and perform (she enjoys music). They are the same. Literally, Focalors could have combined self to her body (Furina) again as she always wanted to be human...but she had a task which was to stop the prophecy, save her nation, and return Neuvilette's authority and full power by deceiving the heavenly principles and destroying the hydro archon throne.

I find it fascinating that last Focalors dance is performed to lighter version of Opera Epiclese theme. Opera Epiclese's place where fates are decided, so it has a heavy theme OST, tho it is place where Focalors fate is performed. Her fate is already decided, so her theme is lighter. Focalors's death hit me so hard that I started to cry all the way down to the end of the quest. She chose to sacrificed herself for her people. Everything she wanted was just to become a human and live the life she dreamed for. Then she let Furina exist, gave her a human form that she wished she could be. Furina was forced to play a role as a Hydro Archon for 500 hundred years. She is just a human! How can a human heart could stand still for this cruel torture? Even if she was free to be a human, the role she played this 500 hundred years will become her haunt until the last day of her life. For Neuvillete, his friend was gone in front of his eyes. We all could feel the sadness when he was talking with Forcalor and by the expression on his face. He didn't know much about human emotion, yet his voice showed how painful he was. At the end of this scene, everything we saw was Neuvillete's loneliness. He was standing there without anyone by his side...

I honestly think this is where Genshin's story was at its absolute best. It made an entire fandom suddenly change their opinion of a character that, before that, was completely hated, and then, it changed to a "Please forgive me..." in complete unison. And then, made everyone cry. A totally heartbreaking grief, after realizing that we hold hatred a character who, behind the scenes, did everything she could, and even what she couldn't, to save everyone... and who at the end thought that all her efforts were in complete vain. And it made us realize that, by accident... we had become the villains to her... And the music just made it... *_PERFECT..._*
