Actually on the PS5 when recording (up to 1hr of 4k/60fps w/HDR to the system itself) it'll record your voice as well and can be edited thru Share Factory with many options including a camera feature. Not a fan boy, just saying the recording options are a bit better on PlayStation. Just got my Series-X yesterday tho and I'm hyped! LoL

Coming from Ps5 I am super disappointed how limited the record settings for my Series X are. Even the Ps4 was miles ahead in this area. Hopefully MS can fix that with a patch.

It's a real pain. I've caught some great clips which would have been made way better with voice. My buddy has been on PS all the way and the capture with voice makes his clips so much better. Especially now with proximity chat in Warzone2

The XBox One was better for clips because it allowed 5 minute recordings, which I really need. I was severely disappointed as well with the series x limiting it to 3 minutes. That's not enough time, and the only way to get more time is to attach an external hard drive used only for clips, you then can't have your external hard drive with your games attached. Really haven't been wonderfully happy with that. Still trying to figure out how to save clips from the PS5 too. There doesn't seem to be a way to do that at all which is even more disappointing.

@@Moraenil On the PS5, you just start recording. You can turn on your mic and set the volume relative to your game. Once it's recorded you can upload directly to your KZbin channel. Assuming you've got the space, the PS5 will limit you to 1 hr at a time and at 55 minutes you'll get a display of your time in the top center of the screen. (that doesn't show up on your video) I was looking at this to record some Starfield footage tomorrow, but now I've got to wait till the 6th and do it on my PC since I only have the early access upgrade for the Xbox version. (and apparently that can't record) If you're still struggling with the PS5 for recording or YT stuff, look for a tutorial video. It's all available in the console and you don't need a phone or computer. (well, you'll probably want to rename it and set some parameters on your YT content screen once it uploads, but you can do that with any potato PC)

1:40 As someone with an Xbox One S, it will actually allow you to record for 4 minutes tops on 1080p. It will record what happened only for 2 minutes.

I was thinking this was going to help us download our clips and screenshots from the app on the pc for editing and saving. The pc app has no way to access clips or screenshots, so I've been using the console companion app which does allow it. As of Aug 28, 2023 (very soon), they're completely dumping the most useful app ever and leaving us with no options. Please update this and include a way to do it on the pc. People are desperate.

Here’s an idea. If you want to record your gameplay on Xbox without external storage simply connect your iPhone to your Xbox then go ahead and start playing your game and on your iPhone turn on screen recording and turn on the mic so it can capture both your gameplay and your commentary and when you’re done just tap stop recording and you have the vid saved on your phone. I don’t know why Xbox doesn’t have the gameplay recoding option as PS 🤦‍♂️

Hopefully Xbox can match (or beat) Sony in the getting clips + editing videos department. Getting clips on the PS5 is convenient and longer than just ... one minute. I believe max clip length is one hour. Plus its easy to just cut the parts of the video you don't want on PS5.

I did everything as you said except when I first plugged in the usb I selected for media. The usb drive no longer shows up in manage storage devices nor can I use use it for media like capturing. It’s a Sandisk 3.0 256gb flash drive that I just bought just for this. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I used flash drives with my Xbox one and it was so easy to edit, BUT with the Series X things are a bit different, I am using USB 3.0 SanDisk but my recorded videos are uneditable! meaning that each time I cut the video or use a software to edit, the picture always comes out greyed or washed out!! the only way to cut my videos is, luckily, through KZbin LoL. Any help please?
