Midori MD soft color A5 notebook first look

While I will definitely use the white version of this Midori A5 notebook as a stand-alone journal, perhaps for a special subject, I will most likely use the pink and purple notebooks as dot grid paper to paste in other journals (a bit like the paper in my pastels notepad from Archer & Olive).

That's good, because I like doing them 💜 I'm trying to deliver one full review each week, with the occasional first look of another journal. Next one is a comparison between the Leuchtturm1917 hardcover and softcover versions!

I really like Midori paper, soooo smooth, but I must say that some fountain pen, or a combination of some fountain pen and some inks, don't work properly on it, precisely because of the smoothness: if the flow is insufficient for any reason (the pen itself, the nib, the ink...) there is no grip, no grain, to stimulate the flow. But when the pen is compatible, the writing experience is uniquely wonderful.

I’ll keep that in mind for my review. I’ll be testing four different fountain pens and inks so hopefully I’ll be able to see some differences
