The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G - What are they doing here? On it's own, this midrange Android phone has some great features, and some downsides. Still, some refer to this as the best budget Android phone of 2022, but can it outcompete its predecessors - the Samsung Galaxy A52s and the A52?
In this video, I dive into all the details in this Samsung Galaxy A53 5G review, to help you make the choice, should you buy the A53 vs A52S.

I got mine several months ago, and I love it. I've had a Samsung flagship, the S7, and honestly, other than the size the A53 really reminds me of the flagship, both in feel and in operation. Since the S7, I've had 2 other phones prior to the A53, neither of them Samsung, and was not really happy with either of them. The latter of the two, a Motorola, was actually rather nice, in that it had a huge screen that looked really good, but that's all it had. Connectivity was spotty, leaving me stranded once, and that is why it was retired way early. I think I'll stick to Samsung phones from here on out. They just work. And they work very well, also. Even this mid-ranged one feels very well crafted, with only the plastic back hinting that it isn't a flagship prior to powering it on. Even then, for the huge difference between what I paid for this and what I'd have paid for the current flagship, well, I see no reason to spend that additional $900+. I do understand that some folks do want and need the top of the line phones, and I feel that for them, it's hard to go wrong with the Samsung S series. I just do not need that much additional functionality, when the moderately priced A53 performs so well.

Removing the phone jack port seems to be a you have to buy their wireless buds kind of thing lol. Wired phones will always be more reliable. No batt dying,syncing or lost connection, No one can tell me different. I have the wired adapter. Changing between another cell with the jack,I can't tell the difference. I would know. Music is apart of my being lol. Those stating it is a huge diff? Seems to be looking for an issue. If you aren't doing any serious photography,(which this model takes better photos than more expensive ones)large file loading/sharing,music tech etc,this phone is amazing for all basic needs & more. Mem expand,water resistant,No wifi issues,drop calls,lagging etc. I don't need all of that & do not want to pay for what I don't need! Money well spent, Especially when it's my OWN 😂. So if you are happy with this phone? That's what counts. With some reviews especially from those who find an issue with everything even if it's free, You have to keep that in mind or you will be all over the place..Something will ALWAYS be better.

I got the blue. I highly recommend everyone adjusting the settings. I set mine to 6gigs of ram, not using 8, yet. That's a nice feature to adjust the ram. Noticeably better set on 6 ram. Also, I adjusted the gestures, so when I swipe up from the bottom it has the iphone movement to get to your opened apps. Battery lasts me two days of use. It charges from 0-100% within a little more than an hour. The camera and display are great. The speakers are louder than the flagship (S22) speakers and it comes with dolby atmos. This phone is a beast. I have no regrets. My previous phone was an iPhone 12 and this is an upgrade, no doubt.

wow you seem very competent and well versed on the technical part. The review also felt honest and really useful for the real case uses (instead of being too nit picky as most reviewer do). It felt like you could give a real and useful advice to understand if it's good enough instead of the most optimal choice ever, which will trap people into indecisiveness between few almost identical phones of different brands

130mbs is slow? Good Jesus, I'm thankful if I get just 10mbs from my old flash drives! 130mbs is ridiculously fast. My phones barely transfer above 30mbs. If that's not a typo, then we've really come a long way since and we are taking things for granted. Well wishes brother. 🌎✨
@DeanTheDoctor
@DeanTheDoctor Жыл бұрын
@D. R. I have an LG G8, V30, and Pixel 3A. I believe that our brother here meant to say that it was 30mbps from the SD card, or that those transfer rates were from the phone to the computer and not from the SD card itself; but in any case, those speeds are nothing to be ashamed of and should be greatly praised for what they are capable of accomplishing. I may be a few years out date, but not everyone has computers or cards that are able to take advantage of those speeds, nor do they use parameters that require great data rates. Much more conservative and optimized settings can be used that can make do with very little but can accomplish a lot. Perhaps it's just a sign of how far we've come as a civilization, but it doesn't hurt to not feel the need to reach for the next piece of highest tech, and to feel more appreciation within ourselves for the things that we can do. Blessings. 🌎✨

Thanks D.R. While those phones definitely have some years on them, they do have some of the best traits that I have seen in some phones. What is important is that the devices we use, suits our lifestyles but I've never seen a budget phone as light as the V30, nor have speakers as good as the Pixel 3A, and that great dependable all-round balance of the LG G8. It doesn't hurt that you can get any of them for dirt cheap nowadays on eBay haha. There are definitely better devices out there that perform better, (I've got my eye on the speakers of the Asus ROG's 😎) but I can wait for the prices to come down. Stay well brother 😊🌎✨

I just picked it up for 149.00 and coming from an A32 5g I think I made a good choice. I would not have paid 450 though I would have just lived with what I have especially since after getting some updates the A32 actually is pretty enjoyable. I honestly believe phones are released with bugs and then those bugs get worked out with real world use and by the time your ready for a new one you actually have a decent device!

I'm considering getting this new, with a year of bundled tracfone service for $279, or I can get a 9.5/10 condition unlocked Galaxy S10 for around ~$160. The S10 is quite a bit older by now though and I'm worried the battery will be shot. I find the newer ios versions increasingly glitchy and am having problems out of my 2020 iphone SE, plus I hate typing on the small screen. I'm so conflicted with this a53, because, people either love it and say it's great and smooth and no problems, or, people claim it's the most laggy crappy cpu ever, worse than even $50 budget phones. I just don't understand it...maybe there's large batches of defective models being produced? I can get a refurbed Pixel 5A 5G for ~$160 as well, but....there seems to be plenty of problems with them too, namely overheating, or, outright defective. Some say to give this a53 about a week, and the system will "learn" how you use the phone and the lags will go away...I don't see how that's possible though.

I bought my family a £249 Samsung A53 5G this week in the Amazon sale. I also bought myself a half price as new iPhone SE 2020 a few months ago for £229. Both phones are fast enough. I prefer using the iPhone myself because it is smaller and because there is a fool proof switch to silence the iPhone in a work environment. The most I have ever paid for a phone was £399 for a Nokia 8. I would never pay more for a phone.

is the a53 really laggy in real life usage? I'm currently on a 2020 iphone SE and don't really like the small screen anymore, battery life was never that great, and with age it's getting worse. People say the exynos cpu in this a53 is more laggy than a $50 phone, but, I'm not sure if they're trolling or too nit picky thinking it'll act the same as a $1500 phone. I can get an a53 for around $250 or so.

@J L thank you for the real world usage info. I desperately need a phone that won't cost an arm and a leg upgrading from a small screen iphone SE 2020. Battery life was never great, and with age it's gotten worse. The newer ios have also been increasingly glitchy...several times a day my home button won't unlock the phone until I press the power button to manually lock the phone then the home button will work. I was looking at several year old former flagships like the s10 or lg v50, but all these years later the batteries are probably shot in them leading to more headache. I wondered if updates, or, time for android to "settle in" would make this phone act better. Several places gave the a53 good reviews, while other people acted like it was more laggy than a $50 phone. I can get one of these a53 for about $250

I just gotta say. I got this A-53 5G from T Mobile when it first got released here in the US and honestly i've never owned a flagship phone and probably never will because i never can imagine paying over a 1000 dollars for a phone. And the only reason i can honestly could ever find a excuse for owning one is if your a professional photographer or your running your entire business from it. Or your someone such as yourself, and you practically absolutely need a top tier device so you can have all of your KZbin videos looking spectacular lol... But with all of that being said I put a down payment on a Google Pixel 6 i thought i did anyways, because me and the rep was on the phone for a hour or more trying to decide between the new great midrange Galaxy A-53 or the Pixel. So when i received my new phone it was the A-53 not the Pixel 6 So they worked a great deal out with me and i was supposed to send it back and then they would ship my Pixel 6. But i kept trying my hardest to not like this new A-53 but everything i threw at it it just didn't let me down, not even once. So in the end i got a brand new phone with 4 years of updates and after you use it more and more it learns your habits and works better now than when i first got it to be honest. So for my down payment on the Pixel i got to keep this device and i've honestly never been more happier with my decision, because it's the best phone i've ever owned, period.

Help me out here, I've been planning to buy the Galaxy A52s for a long time but recently I've been undecided on which one is better between it and the A53. With the A53 I know you're getting a lower powered chipset but advantage is 4 years of major android updates. With the A52s I know I'm getting a powered chipset but the phone will only go up to android 14 compared to the other which goes up to android 16... Any thoughts on which one I should get. Ps, I'm definitely a power user🫠

If it were me, I would probably get the A52s, and if I were still using the phone a couple years from now, I’d look on XDA and install a ROM from there, but I realize that’s not for everyone.
