I went for Mini M2 Pro 32gb 1TB 10cpu/16gpu cores same with yours, main reason is that I only have small desk and mini will be perfect for that. Also, I mostly working on software development, and some video editing and photoshop. That works for me. Studio size is too big for my small desk

Hi Kyle! Thanks for this detailed video! I’m a new subscriber :) very informative. I’m pretty sure I want to go with the air with the same specs you have. I just feel like the pro would be too bulky for me. A few reasons I’m still hesitant are that I would mostly use it with a monitor and the fact that I will be editing KZbin videos.. My KZbin channel is fairly new and most of my videos would be about 20 minutes long, nothing too heavy. The 2 main programs I use for work are photoshop and illustrator so I almost feel like I HAVE to buy the pro😅 I guess I’m wondering what you would do in my shoes? Thanks again!

Since Air M3 doesn't have HDMI, is it possible to connect an external monitor? Can someone explain how to do it? The monitor isn't an Apple one, and I often have compatibility issues with my mid-2012 MacBook Pro (it's a lovely old machine, please don't make fun of her haha). Thanks in advance for any help!!

Just give the ipad air 90hz or 120hz. Done, dusted. Now that pros have oled, 1000 nits, m4, thunderbolt, lidar, better camera and flash, face id, four speakers and base storage of 256gb, I think bringing down 120hz should be the next step with probably a chip upgrade, that's it. I'm calling it, the iPad Air 7th gen will have 120hz and m4/m5 launching in 2026 March - June as the only changes. They won't do anything else.

Hi. Just discovered your channel and loving the content. Quick question that I didn't see an answer for in the comments - when you disconnect the Macbook, do you eject external drives, etc first? If not, any concerns about data corruptions. Specifically I'm concerned about Time Machine backups. Thanks!

The thing with the cheaper models often is that after a few years, they become obsolete. I've got a 2018 iPad WiFi model with 32 GB of storage and just 2 GB of RAM. It shows. Within about 3 years, it became harder and harder to update the iPad because the storage was insufficient. Also it often becomes slow and then I have to put in some effort and a lot of patience to be able to turn it off. After I turn it on again, it's fast again. When I bought it, all the technical gibberish was more than sufficient. So basically this changes over time as apps and the OS become bigger and bigger. Also the use of memory becomes more and more. Even in Mac the minimum is 8 GB, although 16 GB probably is more future proof. (I would nowadays go for 32 GB minimum in Macs anyway.) That's why I want to warn against buying the cheapest options. All these iPads have 8 GB of RAM at most. While the 1 and 2 TB versions of the iPad Pro have 16 GB. Honestly, if you want to still use your iPad in 5 years, I think that's the way to go. Same goes for storage. If the storage gets mostly used up, the iPad will be unable to update. This means you'll probably have to delete apps. I've even had to delete Numbers and Pages for example. 2 apps that I quite regularly use. (Numbers mostly for finances and Pages to make the trainings for the club where I'm a trainer/instructor.) Therefore I would advise to go straight to the 512 GB storage option or more.

Hi Kyle, something no one seems to talk too. I hold onto tech for as long as it works without too much compromise. I'm still using a Ipad Air 2 but its now definitely showing its limitations. Given I don't turn tech over every couple of years and future proofing is important for me, Air or Pro???? Many Thanks

I can't predict the future, but the one thing you have going for you if you're looking at these is the release cycle for iPads seems to be around 1.5-2 years, so given that, you'll at least be on the current model for a while, and then you're probably 2-3 generations away from maybe starting to think about the need to upgrade, but all of that is more of a personal choice

This will be my first Apple Watch. I am a long time Iphone, Ipod, and Ipad user, so I am used to the IOS. To be honest the main reason I am looking at them is because my Dexcom G7 Gluclose Monitoring System will now feed info straight to the watch. Before it went to my Iphone and I had to carry it around. I'm pretty sure I am going to go with the Series 9. My middle son has the Ultra 2 but as a retired senior I don't really see a need to spend that kind of money on a watch nor will I use it like a younger person would. Thanks for the video, I appreciated the information.

I use both.. The lines are NOT blurred. The fact of the matter is that the APPs themselves are very different in quality. Don't get me wrong, I love using my Android flagships.. but the app quality on iOS is ten fold better. For example, the Liftmaster/Chamberlain garage door app "MyQ" on android doesn't send notifications for the door opening or closing until the phone is unlocked, regardless of notifications settings. The banking app I use was not programmed correctly and the DPI scaling is way off and super tiny on Android flagships with high res screens. None of these issues are on the iOS versions of the apps. This is NOT a fault of the phone manufacturers but the developers of the apps themselves. The iOS apps are simply better in every way in MOST circumstances. Some android apps like the Ubiquiti Unifi app are consistently good on both platforms. For me, I love using android but I HAVE to use iOS because of the every day apps I use, plus everyone I know uses an iPhone so iMessage and FaceTime are big sellers for me. No one in the USA uses WhatsApp. Until Google raises their app quality standards, I will continue to use iOS.. it's a shame but that's the bottom line.

What I’d really like to know is: how does the external drive integrate with MacOS. I just want something that is seamless where I can use it without feeling like I have to go a get something off of the external drive all the time. Like with photos. Can the photos library be stored on the external drive?

6:43 This comparison is highly flawed. Apple silicon uses unified memory, which means memory shared between GPU and CPU. GPUs like RTX 4090 have 1008 GB/s memory bandwidth. In that way, M3 pro is terribly slow.
@KyleErickson2 күн бұрын
was comparing the CPU here as a reference point, as most people aren't utilizing the GPU for everyday tasks in the same way. The GPU isn't powerful enough to do any super graphically intensive tasks anyway, as also stated in the video.

I’m using ipad air m2 11”from about a month for both gaming and studying. Let’s not talk about studying but for games it’s totally beast. No lag in PUBG even whole crowd jump at bootcamp at same time. I’ve seen lag while jumping at bootcamp with screen recording on because electricity was gone and it’s too hot this year. But normally with fan it doesn’t heat. No 90fps. But i am not regretting by any chance with this ipad ❤

I don’t have a particular use for the pro, but I decided to buy it because I don’t own a TV, or a computer so it’s basically my one stop shop for everything I do as far as tech goes so I figured I’d get my moneys worth because of that. I am an artist so I also got the Apple Pencil pro. I do need something to run my website with along with various other things of that nature. So far I’m happy with my choice. Also I don’t plan on upgrading until I absolutely have to, so I wanted a device that I would be happy with for years to come.

Bottom line, always get the Air (I would opt not for the 13” but the 15” and make sure you get 16gb of RAM since AI won’t work on 8GB) unless you are in a very small niche group. For the other 99% don’t bother with the Pro. I had an M1 Pro and in my case (and most people’s case) it was merely paying extra money for things that only 1% of users would use. As for the small use case of sitting on a beach directly in the sun (where the pro would work better) my recommendation is not to sit directly in the sun (smile)

Hello, I have always been a PC person. But in the fall, I'll be switching to a Mac and will be going to college for CS. I am struggling to understand if an MBA M3 vs MBP M3 vs MBP M3 Pro is appropriate. There are financial considerations for sure, but since I'll be studying Computer Science, I am afraid that if i JUST consider the cost, I'll suffer in my later years as a CS student. And given, I have no experience with Mac, I am unable to figure out if the Mac Book Pro is better than then Mac Book Air.. and if so, would i also need the M3 Pro chip. Any suggestions or perspectives is much appreciated. =8^)
