Hi Simon! Thank you for the update and your full on development of this wonderful tool! It helped me out in so many livesets, I really love the Midronome. One thing I thought would be implemented in the begining was for the midronome to send a restart transport out of both midi outs without stopping the sequencer, and on beat. Maybe using the big knobs button? Do you think it could be easily feasible to implement?
@simntonic Жыл бұрын
Hey there :) My pleasure, awesome to hear you used it for many live gigs already! Regarding your question, have you tried pressing the play button for half a second ? This should send a "resync" signal on the next bar which I think is what you are asking for (if not please explain :) ). See the video at 8:12 as well ;) Simon

@@simntonic Simon I am certain that this is not the last time you will hear this from someone, but you just made me very happy!! That is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! I brushed right past this feature.

Can it also sync to numbers after the decimal point? Like 94.5 BPM instead of just 94 BPM?

Mark - the legendary man who decided to ask the same question on every single Midronome social media :D (for potential readers: quick answer is no, but it could be implemented in the future - forum.midronome.com/viewtopic.php?t=209 ) Simon

New features looking great - to confirm my understanding, the Midronome can now be slaved to a DAW and will start without a 1 bar delay and needing to manually press the play button on the device? @Midronome Any feedback on how the new plugin works with Studio One?
@simntonic Жыл бұрын
Hi :) Yes you're exactly right, no 1-bar delay and no need to press the button. Just set the "inP" setting to "2.4.P." and enable the Auto-play. The plugin works fine in Studio One - which is actually my main personal DAW ;) The only thing that is missing is an easy way to adjust the delay (to compensate for the many delays: in the DAW, in the hardware sequencer, in the audio interface, etc.). Ableton has a lot of tools to adjust the delay, other DAWs do not. I plan on solving this by adding a shifting parameter to the plugin. But 1) not sure when this will come out :) 2) negative shift cannot work without the 1-bar delay, because you cannot start the plugin in the past! :o Ableton does a negative shift by shifting everything else positively, but this is not possible to do from a plugin. Let me know if you have any other question ;) Cheers Simon

Do you happen to know if using midronome with a midi hub such as conductive labs MRCC would cause latency and/or affect performance? Thanks
@simntonic Жыл бұрын
Hi Greg :) A simple MIDI Thru box should not add any noticeable latency. The MRCC looks a tad more complicated, and doing soft Thru (i.e. messages are copied by software and not by hardware) will add a little bit of latency and jitter. Same with merging. But even though, my guess would be that everything will be fine - those added latencies and jitter should still be very low and you should not notice/head any difference. If you do, then you can tweak the settings, changing the wiring, etc. until you get the results that you want ;) Simon

hey SImon thanks for the video, unfortunately i can't never see the BPM on the clock it's just " - - - " and the locked button is being orange on off... do you have any idea of what it could be ? thanks

Just installed u sync, now i have the bpm lets see... :) will keep u posted
@simntonic8 ай бұрын
@@vpetroi3 Yes the first issue was because you had the 2.4.P. mode enabled, that mode is not there in the v3 beta (U-SYNC beta) so that's why you get the BPM again. If you just got your Midronome take your time to get to know it, try to go through (quickly at least) the PDF manual and/or the video manual so you're sure you understand it ;) If you have questions, better ask in the Midronome Forums or on the Midronome Facebook Group as these are much more active than KZbin and more people will be able to respond to you there ;) Cheers Simon

IF USING ABLETON WITH HARDWARE SYNTHS AND AUDIO AND MIDI INTERFACES HOW IS THIS BETTER THAN ABLETONS CLOCK BIENG SENT FROM ABLETO TO MIDI INTERFACE TO SYNTHS
@simntonic Жыл бұрын
Hi :) Please... don't use all caps :D If sending the clock from Ableton works for you then great. But the reason the Midronome and other similar devices exist is precisely because DAWs are usually terrible at sending clock in time with their transport (playhead). And other than sync between DAW and hardware, the Midronome is a very handy toolbox that could simplify and help your workflow in any case ;) Cheers Simon

@@simntonic but for it to be better than abletons u have to use the audio midi out right ?
@simntonic Жыл бұрын
@@andym7333yes that's correct you need to use the audio output of your audio interface and the Midronome VST plugin (not the MIDI out). Simon
