The cooking spray makes sense. It contains vegetable lecithin which is amphiphilic (emulsifier). It is really nasty to wash off. Dish soap and hot-hot water barely cut it. You needn't soak/marinate the bait with it. Just spray it on the bait out over the water being very careful to avoid getting it on the boat. If you do it'll be like ArmorAll. It will bind with the bait slime and scent causing a prolonged oily release in the water. This would make the bait scent more concentrated for a longer time. Thanks for the video.

Great video guys. I love learning new things in my old age. You can even cut the towels up at home the night before you go and put them into a good thick Ziploc bag and spray them good with the Pam. But keep a can of Pam in your boat just incase you get hungry and want to do a campfire cook out on the beach. Just spray your fish basket before putting the fish on it for easy clean up. Dont forget to hit thumbs up and share this video so your friends can watch this video because they wont believe you if you just tell them about it. An subscribe to it too. Try soaking your bait (rag, sponge, etc.) in straight canola oil. Let the bait (rag, sponge, etc.) soak overnight. I use 1" wide strips by 3" long of $1 store sponges. TIP: Red sponge seems to work best, mimics the color of blood I guess and with the oil scent, it's crazy but works. Had skipjack cut bait sitting not more than 5 feet from the canola soaked sponge, every single bite was on the canola oil sponge.

I'm thinking along Gerald Johnson's lines. I think it's the oily content of PAM glorifying the blood/slime/guts scent in the water. If this is correct? 50/50 minhaden oil/PAM ought to be the best "bait gravy" ever.
@robertharris-bp3tvАй бұрын
I'm no scientist but I imagine the slimes and juices from the cutbait blend with the pam, it will allow for the cut bait to stay fresher and stinky for longer, also when it leves scent trails the scent trails will hang in the currents and dead waters for wayy longer; as well as creating extra scent. I'd test the spam on a piece of sponge to be sure but definitely would add longevity to the bait, extra scent, and amplified scent trails

@@mr.hanger Thanks for polluting your local waterways, dimwit. That WD-40 is just going to stay in the water. Ever seen an oily bank before? To anyone else reading this, *please* don't be dumb enough to spray WD-40 on your bait. There's plenty of biodegradable alternatives that won't add nasty chemicals to the water.

Pam on a dish rag. Who'da thunk it. ... Now I'm going to make a dip to try it. I'll mix Pam with garlic and worchestershire. Mixing Pam with my 2 favorite additives. We shall see.

Very good video. Do you ever fish anchored in one spot? The lake I fish in does not have a current.

I will use Pam because it does attract catfish, apparently more eatin size that hogs so I will keep it for that purpose and go with the straight bait for the bigguns.

I'd have thought it would make the fish slide right off. I once saw a catfish eat a whole turd. I don't eat catfish anymore.
