I know y'all said you aim for people to come in and enjoy this cast for the story, but the narration is part of said story, and those moments like... everyone chuckling at the slimey descriptor of food, just make the storytelling that much more enjoyable. Love this

Man, this episode was a treat! I really appreciate the change in the pacing this week. Feels like a moment to catch your breath after all that amazing tension we had so far. Feels like something our protagonists desperately needed. I love Sequester! Every piece of world building we get just draws me further in. I'm excited to find out what impact this new surrounding will have on Phineas.

Starting to realize Tzila and Lark are more similar then it might seem. A mirror to who lark was as a child, maybe.
@kadoj Жыл бұрын
It actually crossed my mind that, considering the sheer bizarreness and unpredictable nature of the fold and the Tearror, it occurred to me that Lark might actually _be_ Tzila. I mean, probably not, but wouldn’t that be wild?
@willcaster819 Жыл бұрын
@@kadojthat would be… distressing. Y’know, given that Lark and Sherman have definitely been… intimate.
@kadoj Жыл бұрын
@@willcaster819 hm, that’s right. I forgot. Maybe lark is her mom then. Anyhow it was something g that just crossed my mind, and I smell some kind of weird plot point here, I’m just not sure yet what it is heh
@willcaster819 Жыл бұрын
@@kadoj It was a good thought anyway. And Lark definitely isn’t her mom btw. Sherman and Tzila had only been on Midst for about a year before the events of season 1. Ages don’t line up. I like you’re thinking though.
@kadoj Жыл бұрын
@@willcaster819 well, considering the weirdness we’ve already seen from the effects of the fold, I wouldn’t entirely rule out temporal fuckery. That seems like something that would be entirely possible, and I certainly wouldn’t put it past our legendarily unreliable narrators, but you’re probably right. It just seems to me that there’s something going on there, I just can’t quite work out what the specifics of it are yet. I’m sure we’ll find out in due time.

Lark's mom lore!!! This world was already interesing but with this whole new layer it has become absolutely fascinating. I had already wondered that a campaign setting book (prob system agnostic) would be pretty cool but now I don't wonder anymore, I know I need one!

Sequester's pretty dope. Im wondering where Tzila, Lark, and Phineas are going from here. Especially the former. Hopefully Tzila will be able to tease out some real deets about Lark's past. I gotta know what she thought was worth killing Fuse over. Then again, that would set Phineas on her and... well, idk that that's something I actually want.

It just occurred to me... sorry if I'm a little behind... while using kynem (spelling?) and valor, people of the trust probably don't really keep proper track of what they actually spend or owe, especially if they grew up around, served in a way that their lives centered around or were, in fact, already among the very wealthy. It would have been nearly impossible given how the "exchange rate" fluctuates...CONSTANTLY... given this is VERY normalized, it's no wonder so many of it's citizens end up in eternal servitude....the system maintaining it's status quo probably DEPENDS on this though. Constantly chasing valor and romanticizing those who already have it or assuming you are already "valorous" and therefor, completely deserving of everything the lesser, indebted and "un-valorouse" citizens perform for you under an illusion that things just come so easy to those who "deserve" it. reminds me of prosperity doctrine combining with capitalism.
@ThemermaidPearl Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's giving very much evangelical prosperity doctrine. I love how their ignorance of cost is a feature of the system.

Season 1 was a much needed background/setup season. Isolated, it would have been largely a loss and ultimately uninteresting listen, like basing the worth of a an entire book only on chapter 1. Season 2 has been a WILD ride from the first episode and continues to deliver episode after episode, fully delivering on the setup of the first season. I'll be honest, I started listening because I trust Critical Role, they wouldn't deliver content if it wasn't up to their standards. I am still listening because season 2 has genuinely gripped my interest.

Do people in Sequester naturally develop Fold alterations, or is this the place where the Trust dumps you when you're touched by a Tearror and they can't bear to look at you any longer...? I have a grim feeling i know the answer here...
@LuaEvaLazuli Жыл бұрын
Spoilers for the apendix for this episode for people who subbed them: They seem to have some mastery over tearror effects with certain plants for some stuff (for example, encouraging pest repelent tearrors) so perhaps some of the alterarions in the bodies are not by accident too. But it would be cool if there ws a whole fashion industry based on fold research.

@mikedhcisia7277 Жыл бұрын
Right? It's ridiculous. It's bad enough that we have to put up with this crap, but if even the person managing the channel can't seem to care, how do they expect us to?
@luaevablue Жыл бұрын
But because it had already been posted before, people didn't see it in the subscription feed as being uploaded today due to the mistake two weeks ago. The logical thing to do to get more people to see that it was available already is to upload it again instead of making the other one Public from Private. I'm an example. I kept checking the chanel to see if there was a new episode of Midst but thought it was weird there was none. Until I realized they listed the previously mistaken video as public (when they uploaded 9 instead of 8 and took it out imediately) instead of publishing a new one. Now they must have realized this was a better option.
@sinbycosvi9 Жыл бұрын
The other one's only visible in the playlist, but not if you're looking through the recent videos. I wouldn't have realized that episode 9 was out if they hadn't uploaded it again, so it's good that they did.
