During this time I have stopped watching so many "crap" videos. You know, celeb gossip, beauty bloggers, influencers, etc. I watch only videos that are uplifting and inspiring, which is why I am here! Thank you for such lovely content. Your videos calm me and help so much to quiet the anxieties I feel about so many things going on in the world. When I watch your videos, I can see that there is still loveliness, kindness and goodness in the world. Thank you, Jonna!

There is beauty very similar to this Swedish landscape in Alaska. Watching these videos makes me miss the time I lived there. The long days of summer and equally long nights of winter; the cold bite of ice fog in your nose; the long twilight of a summer night; aurora dancing in the winter sky; and the rich loamy smell of deep woods in summer. A year in the sub-arctic will take you through amazing extremes and beauty of nature.

I'm 33. I left my parents' house when I was 18 and moved to the Carolina's where I could feel a *little* closer to nature. I have a lot of kids, half of which want the city life and the other half wanting the country life, so we live right in the middle of both. I crave TRUE nature daily. When I watch these video's of Jonna's, I often get tears in my eyes at the scenery because where I am now is *not* where I want to be. But it would be selfish of me to uproot my entire family for myself. My husband and I are planning our move into true nature within the next 10 years. It feels so far away but I take baby steps daily, which makes me feel like I am getting closer to my dream, if only little by little. Tomorrow, I will be closer than today and today, I am closer than I was yesterday. Just make a long-term plan and focus on it. Keep it in your mind and take baby steps. If you want to move to a different country, you're at the best age for that. One of the safest, most secure ways to move countries is through education. Learning overseas. That will help you get a job, home, and friends secured by the time you're entering your adulthood. -Diana, from LifeGrove

Splitting people into stereotypes and restrictive roles makes them easier for powerful institutions to control, manipulate, and use. That sounds a bit ominous but I intend to validate your point, femininity or softness of any type on any sexuality likely isn’t something humans are inherently opposed to.

It's very rare. I'm not surprised so many people are in awe of jonna's spirit. its something we've moved so far away from because so many of us were raised with parents who had unresolved trauma which they projected onto us. this is the main reason so many people are suffering. But we are blessed to have people like Jonna who remind us that it is possible to move back towards this beauty and live more simplistically.

And as you said, his father abused him, so it just get passed down. Trauma and cpstd is one of the missing topics in our societies. It's beginning to be spoken about more but not enough. However to live a life like Joannas in todays society is not easy. With thousands of comments on each and every of your videos I usually don't write anything, thinking there is no way for you to read and answer. But this one I have to comment on. For several reasons. First is the magic of June and the, what I call "the noisy silence of nature". I live in the Interior of Alaska and I experience it the same way you do in your part of the world. The days are endless, I soak up every little bit of sunshine, well aware of a long and dark winter already waiting to come in just a few months. We have our own midsummer or solstice tradition: On midsummer we burn our last year's Christmas tree. We usually get the tree on midwinter...and burn in on midsummer. Mosquitos. Yes, we have at least as many as you and this year seems to be worse than every year before. I had to smile when you showed me your repellents: I remember US622 from when I travelled to Sweden. And it worked, but was not super great for the skin. I also use this device, here it is called Thermacell. And that seem to work fine when we are camping. Also the dragonflies are late this year and not as many as the last years. Every summer I am waiting for the first ones to show up and start eating the mosquitos. Our garden is in and potatoes set. Usually the first thing to do in June. With the 24 hours of daylight everything grows like crazy and so will yours. Such a long comment, but I saw all the similarities of your life there in Sweden and mine here in Alaska and just needed to write about it. Take care and enjoy the light.

As a fellow Alaskan, I've also been blown away by the many similarities between Alaska and Sweden shown in Jonna's videos. I think Alaskans tend to be pretty disconnected from the rest of the world, even our own country, and we're often looked at like we're crazy/strange outlanders. So it's really cool to see how other people share similar lifestyles in similar climates, with all the struggles and beauty!

It's very similar to northern Canada too! Birch trees mixed in with evergreens, glacial lakes everywhere, remnants of the last Ice Age, wild rivers and beautiful old rounded mountains! Keep up the fight, I know it's hard, Canada likes to pretend we're better, but we're still a haven for mining companies, here's to hoping corrupt and desperate politicians won't use this pandemic and the economic crisis as an excuse to let companies do what they want.. Here it already started, some provinces have pushed back (for now) but "exception" measures during a crisis are always exploited...

Jonna has a truly charmed life. It's hard not to be envious. All I ever wanted was to live in a little cabin in the forest and paint and write for a living, surrounded by nature and animals. I don't think I'll ever have that, life just won't let me.

Gosh, I'm so behind on your videos, I don't know if you'll even see this, but my little girl absolutely LOVED the clothes changing scene in that other video. She is 2 years old. She was transfixed by it, and then she stood up and jumped and looked down at her clothes like she expected them to change. She did it a few times and seemed so perplexed that the magic didn't work on her. It was adorable. She wasn't upset or anything. I think she just wanted to see if it would work. Fro mosquitos problem, try homemade repellent: 150ml of any cold-pressed carrier oil - olive, sunflower, almond, jojoba, argan, or any of your choice or combination of 2 or 3, as long as it is cold-pressed and not processed. Add 4-5 drops of each: lavender essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil and lemongrass essential oil (any citrus will work, but real citruses make skin super sensitive to the sun, lemongrass is not real citrus so it is good). Shake, apply and they should not dare to get even close to you. A lady who taught me this, claims she tested it in Ecuador and it worked :D (spot test first in case of any allergies)

Technically many people have everything they need to life. Money, a flat, a bed to sleep, enough food. But live is not all about this. Humans are not like an oven, giving electricity and all is fine. Since you live on such a beautiful farm now, have you thought of putting up houses for the Northern Bats? They would help with the mosquitoes, you definitely have enough to feed some bats!

Fill an 8-ounce spray bottle halfway with distilled water and add 15 drops each of Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus essential oils and another 15-30 drops of any combination of: catnip, basil, clove, thyme, lemongrass, geranium, or lavender essential oils. Top off the bottle with witch hazel. It works great and smells good.

Hey Jonna, In ballet when we turn ( pirouette) we use our head to not feel dizzy. Maybe this exercise helps you to fell better when you move and do turns , you should focus to one point and while you turn around yourself never lost the point you look 🙂 Love & Light from Istanbul

When I was a child, I travelled with my family in northern Sweden (in Lappland) and the best mosquito repellent was one we bought from Sami people. It smelled really strongly, sort of smokey, but it was more effective than the store-bought kind. I wonder if you've heard about this. No idea what it's called or how common it is.

I remember that too from a motorcycle trip to Nordkapp. The mosquitos were killing me but a same let me have some. With the result that my helmet smelled like tar.

A same (or sami in plural) friend gave me some of his home made repellent and it really smelled like tar and other stuff. He said it was very efficient against mosquitos...and women.

i live in southern US and we have mosquito's too ,i use ivory soap it leaves a film on your skin and bugs are turned off by it ,yucky taste i don't know why it works but it does .and it is all over your body no missed areas . it is very affordable too! growing up we took summer baths in the lake and always used this soap .it floats so you can't lose it . hope they sell it there ,and a 1 dollar investment is worth a try . good luck
