Thank you 🙏 My mother told me how her grandmother, who was from Kerry, would make rose water and put it on handkerchiefs. She would lay it on my mother’s forehead when she had to go down for a nap time in the summer.

Hi Terry, I have a beautiful Queen Elizabeth rose In my garden for 40yrs now. Old faithful blooms year after year. Today It’s April 21,2024 my daughter’s 47th birthday. Our daughter Elizabeth helped me plant it for her daddy when she was 7yrs. old. His mother’s name was Elizabeth as well. So I thought it was a great gift! And it was. It’s so beautiful. Blooms until Nov. (I have a green thumb like you & love my garden plants. & they know it. So many return year after year. So now I can’t wait to make the rose water with the petals. I’m so happy our paths have crossed. Thanks for another wonderful video❣️ Have a Blessed week✝️ Linda🌻

I heard that rose variety is absolutely beautiful!! Has it gotten stronger over the years, like bigger blooms? How's it doing health wise in it's older age?❤❤❤ My mother has 25-30yr old rose bushes that I've adopted the past 8 years but neither of us know the type😂 I worry about my roses and their life span because up until recently I thought with lots of love and care they would live for 100+ years😅

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Hi Terri. I'm new to this, but it seems there are many different ways. Apparently it can take weeks to establish if there is enough colour in the leaves, and from what i can read, the time of year is important too. I think I may be trying too soon, as most websites say from August to October, But, basically, you pick the leaves, chop them and add them to boiling water, for around ten minutes. I have done this today, expecting the water to turn blue, but I believe you have to put the liquid in a kilner jar, and wait for it to slowly turn,,,I'll let you know. :):) xx

@lunagaiaspath50693 жыл бұрын
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Good luck. If you have success would love to see a video x What i didn't clarify is that by leaving it in the kilner, it oxidates, so that should be the turning point from green to turquoise, and then the lovely blue.Good luck x

Can dry rose petals (organic) be used? I'm inbetween homes and haven't any fresh roses. Also, I wanted to share a memory as a child playing in our front yard where my father planted roses everywhere (and fruit trees). He tended them for years so mom would always have fresh roses for all the holiday gatherings & seasons. And when I heard you say roses are healing for the heart I thought maybe his gardening was his medicine for his heart because he had by-pass surgery and then had the strength to climb up the back of Half Dome in Yosemite NP in California! The family was amazed! Thank you for this beautiful culture gift of wisdom.

Wonderful teachings, Actually I eat the petals of many types of flowers but the rose you have I have too, grew from a shoot and it is now very large and full of roses, seems I'm lucky now to know you knowledge. Thank you to you and your husband for making all your films.
