I listed to this song, with my ear to the door of the Tallahassee coliseum, locked out, sitting on my bmx bike. Me and my 14 yr old buddies smoked a bowl and chilled right outside the doors and heard the whole concert, all on our bikes. 6 mos later I could actually play it .Those were the days....

Learned this entire album when it came out. Except for this song! I thought it was too hard to figure out. Which sucked because it was my favorite song on the album. Thanks for doing the hard work figuring it out for me!

Omg I tried to learn this when I was in high school. Never really got close. I was reading an article and the title came up in a totally different story. It reminded of this song. I need to learn this song finally after 40 years 😂😂😂 I now have a summer project!

I love the video... thanks! But where can I get the tabs for what you are playing? I have UGT and the PRO version is slightly different, which confuses me. LOL! Still a beginner here. I have half the song down but the notes are on different scales?

Any recommendations for being able to hit the pull off runs better? They’re the only part I struggle with. Difficult to get them to sound.
@DaveDeWhitt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Max - I wish I had an easy answer, but I think the best advice I can give is to try to be sure that you don't rush the runs, and really try to be sure you are relaxed through your arm and wrist, hand, etc. Specifically to help with this, try to be sure your fretting hand thumb is on the back of the fretboard when you start the runs and your arm and wrist are in a good position that will enable you to be relaxed as much as possible. The not rushing part is key too. I don't know where the saying comes from, but I always think of "slow is smooth and smooth is fast". I'm not saying to play them or even practice them "slow" necessarily, but if you think about staying relaxed and loose, and don't try to use power and force to play it with turbo speed, I am hoping that will help. I struggle with those runs too for sure, they are tough on acoustic, and it's better some days than others. Good luck!
