I so enjoy watching your podcast😊 Such beautiful sewing and knitting inspiration. Your green cardigan, orange Hinterland top, and teal fabric are all AMAZING colours on you! The added bit of their vibrancy is really making you “sparkle”. I am a Warm Spring seasonal colour palette and these are my colours too 😊 Just trying to slowly add these colours to my wardrobe by not over consuming like you mentioned. I have actually over dyed a few knitted items and they worked 🎉 I agree with your latest viscose dress opinion, I mostly think it is the colour too. The whiteish blue tones seem to harsh on you. One lucky person will get a wonderfully made dress from you! Have a wonderful day 💓

Thanks for the lovely comment! I love hearing about people's colours, and them learning about a palette that makes them feel comfortable and excited 😊 I think you're right about the colour and the pattern of the blue viscose dress. It's heading off to someone else now, which makes me very happy!

I would also highlight that the blue/white dress isn’t in the color palette you seem to prefer! So that may be affecting how you feel that it looks on you. I think it’s adorable!

Ah Lorna! I’m also working on the Bifurca vest- isn’t it lovely? Such an interesting garment 💜 I really like your color choices! For me I went for a light grey and some left-over blue green for the colorwork. Congratulations on the success of your sock pattern- I really enjoyed knitting it. Your variegated version really inspires me… and your yarns! I’m excited to see what you come up with for Autumn 🍂 But for now, enjoy your summer!

What another delightful update, Lorna! I love to see your Rota cardigan out and about, I am finally in the last stages of knitting mine, yay! The Bob pants look great on you btw, and I'm impressed by how versatile that pattern is (I have a very short torso, but the high waist also works for me fabulously hehe). Finally managed to snag some of your beautiful yarn, in preparation for knitting some Fallow socks! Have a lovely weekend ❤

The viscose dress might have suited you better if it had a longer bodice and skirt with less fullness. And I would never wear that in summer, either - just linen and cotton for me in hot weather! Your videos are so peaceful and such an inspiration. The checked dress with the tie waist is great! (forgot the name already) I want to make it!

So happy to have discovered your vlog. May I suggest the next time you show us two versions of the same dress (one you like and one you do not) that you model both of them instead of only one? I think that would help us to see the difference much better. I agree with the comment below that the color of the viscose dress brought out your loveliness.

Hi Lorna - the tank top you are making looks lovely - a really interesting construction. I've never made a tank-top before as I'm not sure if they would suit a podgier person but maybe there's a pattern out there that would be suitable for me - will have to do a Ravelry hunt. As you say, it's a great way to see how patterns look on different body shapes. Very excited to hear about a winter knitting retreat (if past offenders are allowed?!!). Maybe you could include a walk to one of the Stroud commons - weather permitting. Thanks again for a lovely, relaxing and inspiring video. Take care X

I think you will enjoy the Hinterland it’s such a versatile pattern and great for layering. Why not try the Sew Liberated Metamorphic dress to layer on top? It’s an interesting make although I’m not convinced that it really works as a reversible garment. Maybe my choice of fabric was at fault - I used a viscose crepe with a light Tencel. I think using the same fabric for each layer would work better. I think the issue with your Viscose zero waste dress is the colour and pattern. It really stands out from your usual colour and pattern choices which all look as if they could mix and match quite happily. The cost of good linen is a big barrier to get over but I am coming round to it now I’ve got a good collection of tried and true patterns.
@threadandyarn
@threadandyarn 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the ideas - they do look like they would layer well together, and I agree with you about using the same fabric for each layer. I also think you're right about my viscose dress - I think it will be lovely for someone else, but it didn't feel like me!
