That crash in the beginning is the reason why you should pick 16 bar loops....

That's the only gripe I had with the mix. I would also have prefered to have the loop 8 beats further into the song. Besides that it's a really clean mix. All mixes with the "s4 mk3" have been quite clean so far. I wonder if you could go really crazy on this device compared to other softwares like Serato. I felt kind of limited by Traktor and the set of features it gives you on this controller. I tried it for an hour or so and have used Traktor for years before. In my opinion this controller is one of the best built units, but the "Hybrid Jogs" are not really my thing and here's why: - The motor is kind of weak (I often stopped it when trying to nudge) - The Vibration of que-points is a nice indicator but more distracting than helpful - The Jogs can't be adjusted in tension - Spinbacks get really out of control, because the motor tries to help - Scratching is also kind of challenging because of the backspin feature, because you have to be gentle while pulling back on the jogs - Without the motor enabled the jogs are just plain old jogs. Tl;dr: The one loop is off and I find the "improvements" to the jogs to be cool ideas but implemented kind of bad.

@@Nixklick93 im definetly on your side :) The only good motorized controller platters are the ones of the Denon SC5000M (No experience based opinion) but you are completely right.

@@banaaaaaan I also played around on those units for about an hour. Those platters are superb! Best moving platters in my opinion. I also prefer the SC 5000s over the Pioneer nxs buildwise. The platters feel much sturdier. The only downside to those players is the engine prime Software. If that was on the same level as Rekordbox, I would have a Denon Setup at home. For now I'm more than happy with my DDJ 1000. The only thing I'm missing are some dedicated FX knobs. But I'm sure, that my NI Kontrol X1 fixes that once I've configured it to run smoothly with RB. :-)

just look on youtube, dj crazy uses traktor when scratching and a lot more dj's out there and also dj shiftee is underrrated when scratching when samples.

It's not required, because the program (Traktor) knows the BPM of the songs you're playing quite accurately. You can do it by hand, but if you don't want to you can press "Sync" and have the time you would need to beat match for something else. I haven't been a fan of that feature for quite some time, but realizing that it is just another tool, like Loops for example, I found myself to be more creative within the mix and not so much focussed on matching those songs. It also gives you more time to read the crowd and you could also use the extra time to find some songs that fit the mood of the set. Even though I only trust my ears and sometimes the program just isn't quite up for the task, when it comes to more "chaotic" types of music e.g. "Drum n Bass". Tl;Dr: It's a skill a DJ should master, but in many cases it's not needed anymore because technology has advanced and gave you some extra time to do more fun stuff instead of beat matching. ;)

@@Nixklick93 never trust the software to beatmatch for you. That's awful advice. It only works correctly 70-80% of the time and even less so on industry standard equipment such as CDJS which dont have standalone software.

​@@rauditt7084 I'm well aware of that and know how to do that quite well, because I learned that on vinyl. But that's beside the point that I was trying to make. I was saying that you can use Sync as another feature. Press it, check if it's working as intended and then have some more time for creative freedom. If you beatmatch manually you are also checking if you've done it correctly, don't you? :) You don't have to beatmatch in a performance mix, because that's the nature of the thing. You prepare the songs, practice your routine and perform. Beatmatching is not necessarily required if you've prepared the songs in a way that the software works correctly and you have confirmed that beforehand. Tl;dr : Beatmatching is for making sure that the songs are in sync. Sync button does the same but can't be trusted so you have to check if it works how you want. When you check if it works as intended is up to you. Both methods are valid and are part of the creative freedom we've got as DJ. Those are just my two cents :)
