When i paved i didnt have a fancy plate tamper ..I did it all by hand the 45 and Top.. ..Straight 45s were key to a perfect finish.

I’ve read a lot of KZbin comments and it seems like all the driveway paving videos have these nitpicking comments about how the job wasn’t done right or wasn’t worth the money or “won’t last” . Driveway videos, welding videos , and auto body videos are the worst. Strange. I don’t know what you should call this phenomenon.

St Louis Paving Inc thats what I was thinking. Grader seems like overkill for a drive. I lay rock through my paver all the time and use it to finish grade alot. Alot quicker.

Our company lays rock with an old paver all the time it is a quicker and more efficient way to lay rock especially if you have two good screw men. We lay a crushed stone base that's mixed with water before paving anything too. Laying with an old paver is great except on jobs where we use the GPS on a motor grader then its a lot quicker to do that.

fit4ya1975 well seeing how it took all day, some of them were laying down, literally laying down at some points it’s probably a union state run job so roughly 13.2 million dollars. Give or take.

You could shit and fall back in it too. It would take 10 pavers, 30 rollers, roundabout 300 trucks depending on the haul, 7 to 10 asphalt plants, roughly 430 men, and about 4 miles of new construction roadway laying the first 6 inch layer of base on 4 10 foot driving lanes and a 4 inside shoulder and 10 foot outside shoulder.

all these asphalt videos....no one believes in any curbing??? Belgium block??? Brick?? When it get hot those edges will break from heavy cars and trucks....Whats holding the asphalt in?? it may hold for awhile if no ones car tire falls down it, but his aint concrete

tjsage79 why would you put a curb on the edge? How will water get off the driveway? I never seen a driveway with a curb except if the driveway is higher than the house then a curb is necessary to keep the water from going to the house. But other than that you just tamp the edges and it's fine. Not like a semi is going to drive off the driveway. If they put down 2" it will hold
