I'm 36... and took my 7 year old daughter to the local rink today. I haven't put in lines on since 1997... at the age of 12. I'm hooked again. After 5 minutes it was like I never stopped.

Don’t let adulthood get in the way. Find yourself a rink near you that has an old school adult night. I go every Monday, no wife, no kids, just me 8 wheels, and the hardwood. It’s an absolute blast!

Best times EVER in life...when things were easy, carefree and so enjoyable. i was from a small town that had a skating rink and we had some really good skaters however, a crew came from one of the larger cities around us and BOY!!!! They put all our good skaters to shame...they were MASTERS, they would do all these stunts and master splits with the skates..etc..and it was poetry in motion.

I am 61 now born in 61 we had the most fun back then now we are afraid to come out at night 🌃 to go skating now so please stop the killing so the young kids can have fun like we did back then ☺️ they will be happy again not afraid we need our children to stay alive to grow up like we did and have there family also so we can see our grandchildren have children

Church I attend used to be a roller skating arena. Gives whole new meaning to holy roller. I tried skating there once but I would’ve been happy just to have two left feet. Good part about it was a cute girl tried to teach me to skate. Ended up holding on to her waist and she pretty much drug me around. Unfortunately it was short lived because her dad didn’t like me much. A cute little strawberry blond named Kimberly.

My mom, aunt and uncle were all roller skaters. Its such a great feeling. Moving and dancing. Maybe instead of a small room with a key this could work for the young ones

Love the song they're skatin to.I used to skateback in the late 70's. I was in my own world. Best times ever!Met my first husband at a rink 30 mi from my town. He and a couple different friends would come with him every friday/saturday 9 til 2 skate to this small town from Detroit area. They skated like no other. I used follow them around. Finally got the guts to meet him. A year n and a half we were married.

They were super expensive in 80s and the best I got was these skates that were like metal straps with wheels that extended to size of your shoe/trainer and didn't have a toe brake..lol. rinky dink wheels but hey you could still get some speed from them and were great for the everyday street surfaces..

Yes, and please tell that to the roller figure skaters who can do triple axels: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ6YqJx3qZuUmsU . Can they 'skate'? It's just different man. That doesn't mean that it's bad. Other types of skates can be an advantage or disadvantage, depending on what you're doing. Certain types of skates are just suited to do certain types of things.
