Part 2 of a wonderful and nostalgic look back in time to the (mostly) Chicago rave scene at it's height in the mid 90's.

What a party man. In a school house- enormous glow in the dark Twister downstairs. The sheer insanity of being in a school house with a billion other kids shwasted and dancing their asses off. I'll never forget that party.

@@TheLedonne3 i remember used to be able hit up a concert, eat some crappy mcdonalds, get a little shwasted and hit a party for about 60 bucks back in those days!!! 🤣 gawd damn!

The end of the scene for me was shortly after every party was seemingly at Morgan Market. It seemed like this was the only venue with parties for months.

I know this is a long shot but I'm gonna try anyway....In late 1994 or very early 95 at a now defunct flea market that was located on Smithtown long island New York there was a booth that sold bootleg tapes. A bunch of guys ran the booth and the cassettes were very basic bootlegs (no cover art, artists names were sometimes missing) and it was just a blank tape that someone had recorded songs onto. The paper insert just had song titles. One tape i purchased was titled:Underground Hardcore Chicago 1994 and had about 30 songs similar to the ones in this video. Before the songs started on side A and Side B was a man's voice saying "AC music productions" This tape blew my fucking mind and I sadly lost it a few years later. I've been searching for decades for the songs but unfortunately its next to impossible since I only remember one song title and it was just a bunch of question marks like ??????? (I guess that's why it was easy to remember lol) And I remember another song sampled a haunting, slightly distorted version of "Over the rainbow " by Judy Garland in the wizard of Oz. Being that I was only 11 years old in 94 it wasn't easy to have access to this type of music. I've searched everywhere online for any hint of this mixed tape but can't find anything. Hoping anyone who either was really into this scene at the time or knows or recognizes anything that i shared in this comment can help. Chances are what i owned was a just a compilation of random songs that are now impossible to find but I guess it won't hurt to ask.

This was it! I was there! Before this it was house or Medusas... After this there were 1-2 raves on the South Side in Dolton... Off to college in Dekalb for me... 1 more fest in Madison. A few descent clubs late 90's open and close. Final nail in the coffin is the RAVE ACT(Thanks Sleepy Joe Biden) Ever since Chicago has been "the boulevard of broken dreams" Edward Hopper.
